The Master List of DVD, HD-DVD & Blu-ray Movies with BASS Thread...With WaterFalls - Page 27

Thanks guys, looks like I need an external soundcard. No line in on my computer. Just alot of USB's and the mic and headphone jacks. Of course it has the serial ports and other stuff not related. I want to see what my subs are actually doing in room. I have taken measurements manually but using the correction tables makes it too good to be true. It seems without correction is more accurate. Love these waterfall charts with the chapter index. One can plot a frequency graph with source material at very high spl's, rather than using sine waves at high spl's which could destroy a subwoofer.

Can someone chart a scene in pulse, not the computer room, but there is another scene after that when they are in the desert near power lines. They thought they were safe and then get attacked. When they drive away there is powerful bass, I wanted to know what frequency it was. Thanks

Does anyone know how low the bass goes during the creation of the Sandman in Spiderman 3? There's a part where the machine spinning goes nuts and it feels like my room is about to explode.
I asked the same question, I think it is 35 hz for the real strong stuff.
direct from the disc it was pushing ref. level dead on 35 Hz. but some others will have different readings.

Here we go again!

Mission Impossible 3 - DVD Menu

MI:3 - Chap 1 (rumbles that go on during interrogation...continues off the graph but I felt I didn't need to chart it all cause it continues as so for an additional minute.)

MI:3 - Chap 3 - Raid on Building

MI:3 - Chap 4 Chopper Lift Off..."go, GO GO GO!"

That's all I felt like doing for MI:3 atm...as SC was getting into it...this movie just has so much deep bass it almost isn't worth charting.

Ahhh....now, Superman Returns...on the other hand. Great bass! Steve, if you are still reading, rent it at least to hear this bass. It's a pretty good soundtrack. Better sound design over MI:3, imho.

10 second marker is the closeup of the ring in Sauron's finger, iirc...

Chap 1 - Opening Battle

You can see the "dun dun...dun dun...." @ the 25second mark... when Sauron walks into frame and then the 45hz-4hz sweep at the very top ...lol, I can't remember what that was...lmao! It was either one of the swings from Sauron or when the king is hit and lands on the ground...cause that part goes pretty low.

Cont.

This is an easy one....continues from the last plot...

Here, we can see the sweep from the shockwave including the deep rumble after he takes the ring finger off the ground. 40second marker is the ring finger landing on the ground after its cut from his finger.

Basically I will try to set mine up like yours so I can compare my own in-room response to that of yours and see how it stacks up, etc. Plus check out the bass in different music and movies, of course.

It took a bit of fiddling to get decent output... if I used kweezer's settings, it didn't have enough gain to show much. So you can't compare colors to kweezer's.

Here is the same scene. The final sweep that continues in one direction is at the top (I stopped right after that, as that's the "low" point), it stops with a peak between 14-15 hz:

This graph doesn't look as intense as it seems listening to it. I think it seems so much more intense because the bass is extremely emphasized. It dominates the audio during this period without sharing much with higher frequencies, and it goes on for a relatively long time. And being warble tones instead of more random rumbling, it's more noticeable.
