Could the same hold true for the 400 and 810/700? Calibration is not that difficult, and at 45% the price of the 810, the 400 sounds like it might be the smart alternative to the 810 and the Panasonic 100.
Anyone know of a side by side with the 400 & 810?
When Projector reviews did the testing of the 550 and the 800 Art was more than impressed by the improvements between the 550 and the 800. Here are the respective reviews the 550 review
and the 800 review
, there are differences between the two however it is left up to the consumer to decide if the price difference is worth it.
At the end of the review Art did have this to say about the 800, quoted directly from the review.
" Kudos to Epson. Their Cinema 550 is a top contender in its lower price range, but overall, this Epson is truly a more impressive value, even at its higher price."
So it will be interesting how the 810 compares to the 400 and if the premium price is worth it. I again think that only the purchaser will be able to decide if the "step up" is financially worth it.
There are some major differences now between the 400 and 810 (dual iris/lenses) where the actual differences between the 550 and the 800 were not as drastic.
