Flickering on a Samsung HLS-5087w

Newbi question here.

I noticed today that I'm getting flickering while watching Comcast HD. When I tested this with my dvd and xbox 360 i'm NOT seeing the flickering.

My question that I have is, is the cable source causing the problem or STB or HDMI cable going from the box to the TV?? Can this flickering be bulb related?

One other question when do you need to replace the bulbs on this model. Is there a way to find out how many hours you have on a bulb?

Sorry for some many newbi questions here.

Thanks in advance.

I normally keep my TW cable box set to 1080i, but I tried it on 720P out of curiosity and noticed some strange flickering on my 6188w. I'd suggest you check to make sure that your cable box is sending 1080i out.

Thanks for the reply but I believe now its the TV causing this problem. I noticed this morning that this flickering is happening with my xbox 360 and when no signal is going to the TV. I have my TV set to display the blue screen when the TV loses it's singal and I'm seeing flickering with these blue screens too.

Can this be the lamp going or the light engine.

I'm glad I brought a warrenty with this TV. LOL
