We even opened up the back to see if there was any solder issue, or the rca jacks werent connected to the board. We checked with a voltmeter to check the Resistance across the jacks and everything checked out. im not sure if the board has gone bad but the jacks seem fine.

any ideas?

I have to ask you what device are you using on the TV? This is how i would fix this.......Hook up composite or anything that will get you to the resolution change screen. Hook the HD back up. It will say invalid format, that's ok. Going blind, I do mean remembering to get to another resolution without the screen for help!!!! It should then kick back on and be OK

I do however have firmware versions A34-19L and A34-26L and they are for this model.

Aren't there separate firmwares for sets with CMO or LPL panels? If not I'll take them.

Someone posted that you can check to see what panel you have by looking at the serial on the back you your tv. For LPL the third letter is an L. Ok, well that is what I have on my Olevia 32".
Maybe now you will know for sure if you need CMO or LPL firmware.
Another post said LPL was for larger units 42" ect. which we know is not true LOL
post #1417 of 1473
The set is CMO I know that for a fact, the model is 232-S13 it has the 11c firmware I think?(adb1_aq_232cl_a34-11c.a20.pm24c.adx.t30)

Are there any firmwares that allow 1360x768 over HDMI? That is the only reason I want to update it.

edit: Looking at this thread I need at least an A34-17C firmware, right?

Are you getting invalid format and did you try the going blind trick to snap the resolution?

Yes invalid format, what is the blind trick? The set is currently hooked with my video card, extended desktop style, 1280x720 to the TV works so friends can watch movies in my dorm while I'm on my PC, but I change to 1360x768 and the TV reports invalid format.

I think the blind trick is just to move it away from 1360x768 to get a picture, I want the set to SUPPORT 1360x768 so I get more resolution from my 1080p movies being downscaled.
I will try and help locate the firmware you need sorry for your problems
post #1421 of 1473
I don't need the keyboard, I have dual monitors? Doesn't matter how many times I set it to 1360x768 nothing but invalid format comes up.

Odd thing is, it wont let me set it to 60hz at 1360x768, only 59hz.

Wondering if you guys can help me out as well. I have the s13-232 32" set and I get invalid format when I hook up my computer and my 360. It is so annoying and frustrating. I checked the serial number and the third letter is an L. The current firmware is ADB1_AQ_232CL_A34-11L.A20.PM24L.Adx.T30 Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have a copy of Olevia firmware A34-26L.A20PM25L.ADXT30 which was issued in Spring pf 2009. This firmware upgrade was to correct a split screen issue with HDMI inputs. The previous firmware A34-19L.A20PM24L.Adx.T30 corrected XBox Elite compatibility problems.

My set is a 232v, model 232-S-13, FM1-032000EGS76, s/n VCLN7A080065. My current firmware is A34_17LA20.PM24L.AdxT30 and I have not had a reason to upgrade.

The firmware upgrades are FM# specific. I have supplied this firmware to about 25 people and only one individual has had an issue with it. You are welcome to use this firmware, but there are no guarantees - send me your e-mail address and I will e-mail the firmware to you. It is 7 MB in size. My e-mail address is "lejejame@bellsouth.net".

The firmware file as well as .pdf installation instruction and .pdf version of 232-s13 users manual are available at the following Megaupload links,

So did you ever find a solution to this problem?

I am also one of the unlucky ones that bought this set a while ago. I had it plugged in directly into Coax, so I was getting a good HD signal from cable. I recently hooked a dvd with HDMI and the image looked pretty bad. Almost like posterized, I tried with RGB calbes and looks the same, the rca is fine. I dont know if the firmware will fix it but if anyone still has the lates one that was released before the company went under I would highly appreciate it.

Do you happen to know if this will work on my TV?

232V-S13
FM1-032000EGS55
VCLK########
ADB1_AQ_232CL_A34-19L.A20.PM24L.Adx.T29

EDIT: Nevermind, it worked. Thank you.
Would anyone have an EARLIER copy of the firmware than A34-26L.A20PM25L.ADXT30?
I updated mine, and now have to deal with constant NO SIGNAL flashes when starting a DVD, or reading MP3s/photos through my DVD unit (connected to the TV via the HDMI port)
Does anyone happen to know if A34-26L.A20PM25L.ADXT30 is the latest version.? I have tried to figure it out. It looks like the newest but what I think we all need is a definitive break down of this extinct product line.

we have LG or CL brand display panels. It's all a mess.

Emerson Radio Corporation has resurrected the Olevia LCD televisions. Both 32" and 42" 1080P LCD"s are being manufactured. The new website is

Is this firmware newer than ADB1_AQ_232CL_A34-26L.A20.PM25L.Adx.T30? Because that's the one I have. Serial VCLK76050595. You stated earlier this is a spring 2009 release.

**EDIT: Nevermind, the download link you provided for A34-26L_232_LPL-ATl242 is actually ADB1_AQ_232CL_A34-26L.A20.PM25L.Adx.T30 which is the FINAL firmware release. At least that's what the text file contained in the ZIP read.

Hello! I have a 232-T12 and need a firmware upgrade.

I've read through many pages of this thread and it is a wealth of information but not very well organized. Thanks already to people who have uploaded their firmwares or made them available through PM. However, I believe there is a better way.

I propose packaging all of the useful firmwares and making them available publicly. There is no resource for these files as support for older Olevia products is non-existant. We gatta do it ourselves

I cannot PM for lack of post count and I'd rather not waste the forums attention with meaningless posts or observations as this is the only related topic I am interested in at the present time. If an admin would like to enable PM functionality on my account that would be awesome

I can provide hosting, I just need the files and a better understanding of their organization. I've setup an email: oleviafirmware at gmail

So...If I missed a link that isn't dead please quote it so I can grab the files. If you have a firmware that could be useful to others - PLEASE take the time to email it to me with a quick description. I'd like to get a single public page up with active links to as many useful firmwares as possible.

Thanks in advance for your help! Of course I'm super interested in the firmware for my model - so the person who provides that gets a prize.

How did I not find this thread earlier?! I've been looking for the firmware forever.

Thanks so much for releasing this. I was able to download the firmware, but the instructions have been removed. Would you please provide a new link, as I don't want to brick my tv by accident.

EDIT:

I found the update instructions for the 232-S12, and they were applicable here. For future readers, I downloaded the firmware above for my 232 S13, and I used a fat32 formatted thumb drive along with 5 of the 6 files in the zip file. "A34-26L_232_LPL_ATI242 platform_pm25l.txt" doesn't need to be on it.

okay I have a 232-s13 tv and I'm trying to connect my pc to my tv with a hdmi cord. however it reads invalid format. I'm not the best with this stuff but I've been looking around and it seems that my problem could be the firmware?
my firmware is ADB1_AQ_232CL_A34-11C.A20.PM24C.Adx.T29
Can anyone give me the firmware I'd need to make the hdmi work? or if I'm reading too much into this and it's actually a simpler solution clue me in?! Thanks!!

I just bought an Xbox 360 and I have an Olevia Model 232-s13 LCD and got the Invalid Format so all you have to do is what Youkon04 and A11 say's.

So I tried the "A34-26L_232_LPL_ATI242 platform_pm25l.zip" firmware that Yukon04 (232-S-13, FM1-032000EGS76) gave me despite not having the same FM# and here's the result:
My Model: 232-T12 (FM1-032000EGS69)
The good: HDMI fixed! (or now works with my xbox 360 at least - used to just say "invalid format")
The bad: New sound issues of popping when switching resolutions and a constant buzz (hopefully fixable with external speakers)

Thanks!
