I picked up a 232V yesterday. Here are my impressions so far...
SD and HD (QAM) via cable - look great. I haven't tried OTA tuning, but I assume they would look good too.
DVD player via component (tuned with Avia) - at 480p I get a green bar covering about the top 1/6th of the screen. It fades in and out. I'm assuming that this must be a manifestation of the green tint problem that others have had. I'm going to see tonight what I get at higher resolutions over component. I'm also going to see if the problem exists on the component input that is shared with the VGA connection. The green bar made a quality judgement a bit difficult, but I'm not too impressed with the image sharpness via component at 480p.
PC via DVI-to-HDMI cable (1360x768, 1:1 aspect) - crisp, but I think I'm getting the same issue that aiwnow got (1 pixel wide vertical lines that are grey instead of the correct color). I saw this on text but tonight I'll look at Task Manager and see if I see it there like he did. I don't think it's my cable, but I'll see if I can dig up another one.
PC via VGA (1360x768, 1:1 aspect) - no color problems like with DVI-to-HDMI, but the picture is kind of soft. Kicking up sharpness doesn't completely resolve this. I'm using a high quality VGA cable too. With the same cable attached to my 19" Samsung LCD monitor, I can see no difference in sharpness between VGA and DVI connections, so I think this must be a limitation of this TV.
In general, it seems that the image from the TV's built in tuner is very nice, but there are issues with images from the external inputs. I'm leaning towards returning this set instead of exchanging it. I worry that even if I get a set that doesn't have the green tint problem, it will start to have it later in life. I could get the extended warrantee to guard against that, but at that point I might as well buy a more expensive TV.
At this point, I'm 0 for 2 on LCD HDTVs (previous one was a Viewsonic N3251w which I returned due to white crush and other issues).
