32" LCD --?--

Hello all,

I'm looking to get a new HDTV for my room (decided 32" would be best bet due to room size and viewing restrictions).
- $1200 max
- 65% DVD's and 35% Gaming (Xbox360, just need the HDTV first...)
- 32"

What should i look for in an HDTV? contrast/ratio/aspect ratio/1080p,1080i,720p..specs, all reviews all have different answers/tips/suggestions....

-TeamXbox recommended: Samsung LN-R328w**appeals to me the most
-Best Buy employee recommended: Samsung Plasma HPS4253 (its Plasma, but since im gaming should i stick with LCD?)
-Westinghouse 32" HDTV

just let me know ASAP please. click-it-or-ticket all -thanks in advance

The response time on the Samsung LN-R328W is bad. 12ms is too high for me if I'm gaming. Take a look at the Sharp Aquos LC32D40U. 6ms. I looked at one today in person and it was amazing. Cheaper than the Samsung on Amazon too.

ok, so i've been researching more and more and have found out some more stuff:
- 32" or higher
- LCD due to Plasma's burn-in risk
- lower than 12ms
- VGA slot
- built-in HD tuner

but what other specs do i need to be able to hook up xbox360 and a DVD player with best results? (ie: 1080i?1080p?720p?/ HDMI?connectors?) any tv's you recommend? what about tv's with no backlight/leakage/etc?

the list so far...:
Vizio VX32L 32"=1080i?
Sharp Aquos LC32D40U 32"= but no Video Outs?!
Samsung LN-R328W =availability, and high ms, complaints of DNIe?
Westinghouse lvm37w1
Westinghouse ltv32w1
Samsung LA32R71B

this is what i'll end up hooking up to the new HDTV:
Xbox 360 (for games and DVD's)
Kenwood VR-407 receiver

Im in the same boat.

Looking at the Samsung LNs3241DX and Sharp LC32d40U.

The Samsung has a 2400:1 Contrast ratio compared to the Sharps 1200:1.

BestBuy loves to push Samsungs. I have great success with my Westy and if you can get 4 more inches at the same price that could be a good deal.

I'm looking too, either 26 or 32 for bedroom with the same requirements.
