Paradigm Millenia or Studio v4?

I have done alot of research on these speakers, went to dealer and they didnt have either of them in stock, my question is what would be the best to buy the millenia 200 or the studio 100v4? Really love the look of millenia but not sure if they would sound as good as the 100's. Anyone compare these two or have currently just bought millenias or studio v4's lately. Still saving for either but will be bought in January. Room they are going in is about 14x14. Seating position from tv and speakers will be about 7 feet.

I am in the exact same predicament and trying to decide between the 100v4 and the Millenia 300s. Although they are not up on their site, they should be available by January. The 300s are the same design as the 200s with a slightly larger woofer, 5.25 I think..

In the end, I will let my ears decide... Good Luck

Yeah I heard about the 300's too, wish my dealer would get in gear lol. Guess I will wait on responses on sound quality of both. Good Luck to you too on what you choose.

Others may disagree, but I don't think your room is large enought for the 100. The Millenias are lifestyle speakers, perhaps the best lifestyle speakers, but cannot perform at the same level as conventional speakers.

If your sold on Paradigm, I suggest you consider the Sigs.

Just curious, what exactly is a lifestyle speaker and what is a conventional speaker. Do they have their own defenitions.. ...

Honest question..

There is a link in the paradigm millenia thread that shows Paradigms 2007 Millenia offerings at the 2006 CEDIA.. You might have to do a search for it as Its buried due to inactivity... A couple of pages back..

I went though the same debate last month as I auditioned the new Studio 20's v.4 and the Millenias. The Millenias are a beautiful speaker and look very nice in the aluminum finish, and I felt they would compliment my plasma tv very nicely. I agree that they are perhaps the best lifestyle speakers in their price range.

In the end I let my ears make the decision for me and went with the Studio series. I felt the Millenia 200 was pretty close to the Studio 20's, but the new Studio CC-590 was in a different league when I compared it to the Millenia 20 for a CC. The CC-590 is a huge speaker and I had to buy a new cabinet to fit it in.

I ended up deciding on the Studio 20's as I felt that they had a much better sound stage and a "fuller" sound than the Millenias. As a side note the Cherry finish with the 20's on the Premier J-29 stands are very attractive as well....

Oh and by the way I think in your room (14X14) the 100's are going to be way to large, I would go with the 40's or 20's with a sub.

I also have a fairly small room (15x11) and the seating is against the wall about 8 ft from the wall-mounted 42" flat screen. I'm planning on new speakers for 50% TV/movies and 50% music and was looking at the Studio 20.

Went to listen to the V.3 and decided to wait to audition the V.4. I was put off by the large center channels in the studio line. They are fine for bigger rooms, especially if you are using the bigger studio's for the fronts. We just don't have the space under the TV for such a big speaker.

For using the Studio 20's as front speakers, I'm very interested in the Millenia 20 for the center and would like to audition ASAP.

I'd also love to check out the Signature C1 as it looks like a nice 3-way design and layout that may have a better dispersion. However, the $400 price bump is a major concern. I'm also curious about the new monitor V.5 centers. It looks like there is a 3-way design with a similar driver layout as the C1. I'm wondering how this would integrate with the Studio 20's.

Thanks for the response brich, yeah more I think about it I might just go listen when they get the millenias in against the 20 v4 or the 40v4. Kind of wanted a bigger speaker cause if I move this year hopefully and have a bigger room I dont have to buy speakers again. I really like the look of the cherry too myself on the studios. Thanks all for the info so far guess time and my ears will tell me what to buy.

I think the 60s would be okay in your size room. It may be a little small, but if you like them I would say go for it.
The room is definetely too small for 100s.
I know because I have 3 of them in a 13x12 room with 20s in the rear.
Do I regret the purchase? No. They still sound great and I plan on moving them into a larger room next year. Keep in mind where your speakers may be in the years to come and purchase based on that if you know that the room size will change, unless if you are like many on here and want to buy a new set up every 2 years. Good luck.

I don't know if they are available yet, but I would surely listen to the new Signature S-1s before I made a decision, given a smaller room.

I own the 100's as well as the Sig 8's, this is just my opinion but you don't have enough room to run 100's well in a room that size I would be thinking Studio 20's and a good sub all the way if it were me in your shoes.

In terms of sound-vs-room size wouldn't Studio 40's also be appropriate since they're not much louder, but have more definition? Or for that matter it's more that he should use bookshelf and not floorstanding?
