I will eBay my SD copy of Serenity and pick up the HD this weekend.

Doesn't King Kong have the unfair advantage of being the only release on the list that was bundled?

I have KK because it was bundled. I'm assuming that there are at least a few other people who voted on owning KK because of the bundle?

The only other HD-DVDs I own are Chronicles of Riddick and Grand Prix. I'm slow on buying a lot of the movies because for a good amount of the movies I own, I have some sort of packaged set.

KK will probably be the only one I'll own, because it came with XBOX HD DVD player. I've only ever bought one DVD and that was a whim at Wal-mart for $5 when on vacation once. Most of the time I'm not that interested in watching a movie twice so rental works good for me. I might buy Heat when it goes HD if the quality is better than DVD.

Looks like Batman Begins is winning (283 83.24%) but how is the 83.24% calculated? I would guess you're just counting the number of members voting in the poll. There would have be a "None" option to even come close to calculating a percentage. At least that's what I would think. Not that I'm a stats expert of any kind.

Is there any particular reason people are buying online?

I have 5 local so far, and the only reason I would think to buy online would be imports and others that are hard to find locally.

I bought them for $19.95 each at Target, and will probably buy more at Fry's in the coming weeks, they have a bunch for $19.95 with some $25 and up. Fry's has a MUCHbetter selection than Target so far.

When I looked online the prices were the same or more, so the wait time and shipping seems like it would make it less attractive to buy online.

Online is usually cheaper. Doesn't CA have sales tax too? With Amazon it's $18.00, free shipping, and no sales tax (for me anyway) and no driving. You just have to put up with Amazon's stocking issues, etc. NBD for me.

Homerx's idea is right. There is no balance on this list. All of these movies are action movies. I understand that it would be difficult to list all the available titles in one single pool, but in this list there are items from the first months and brand new launches, however, all of them are action films.

Missed owning the Poll! LOL Don't own Riddick...not sure if I want to Blind Blind it.

I have them all, and Serenity twice.
Like a few others, I own every listed title except for the stinker known as The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

I didn't pay attention to the type of movie for the choices.

I was just trying to find out which movies are most popular among members.

These 10 were all pretty high on Amazon's sale ranking at one time or another.

Picked up Riddick last night, owned all 10 now.

I own all except Kong. Everytime I try to buy the title, I keep telling myself I might get the XBOX addon for my living room.

I would expect either Kong or Batman begins to have top ownership. Kong for the simple fact it was a pack in with the XBOX drive.

I think that Batman Begins will be the top ownership even if King Kong is offer with the xbox add on because not many will pass on BB. I can't say the same for KK.

Added Training Day and Serenity today. The HD DVD support is pretty strong for blockbuster titles.

I Netflixed Tokyo Drift to see the U-control special effects. Neat stuff, but still a lousy movie. I was surprised to see some of the top titles are ones I don't own. I have Batman Begins on DVD and don't like enough to upgrade to HD DVD. I have Kong on its way from Netflix. I don't expect to like it, but we'll see. I can't stand Tom Cruise, but I bought the MI 4 disc set because of the pricing, and MI are probably the best Tom Cruise movies. Serenity remains my favorite for entertainment value, but it's a mixed bag on PQ becuase of the way it was filmed. One not on the list - Seabiscuit - surprised me the most as I Netflixed it expected it to be boring but ended up buying it becuase of the outstanding PQ and enjoyable story.

I didn't like Tokyo Drift either, but I bought it to check out the special effects. I rented Seabiscuit from Netflix. It was a nice movie as well as the PQ. Might buy it later on.
