Hey all. I am away from my tv and the wife is telling me that it has a black screen and nothing else. I told her to turn the tv on...you never know. anyway, it was on but all she gets is a black screen. I am not there to look at the setup and just wanted to see if anyone had this problem or knows what it might be. I dont think it is a connection issue due to the fact that the blu ray wont show up on the tv, she can not see the source box come up. any ideas?

i doubt anyone could diagnose the problem with this limited amount of info - guess you'll have to wait 'til you get home and then mybe give a few more details to the crew here.

Well I went home last night and sure enough, black screen with sound. Doesnt matter if you change the source or channel. Connections were good. Turned off and on with remote. Then called for warranty repair. Have to wait 7-10 days to get approved. Well i turned the tv off from the front panel, waited a few mins then turned it back on. Bingo, picture and sound. Well, I am still having them come check it out. Wife just called and said same problem. So she turned it off from the tv for 30 mins and turned it back on from the tv and its good to go again. It has been in the 50's in my house last 2 days...could that be a factor or could it be a internal power problem for the screen? Any ideas? BS doesnt matter, I am sitting in a computer school and any reply would be nice since I am bored out of my mind. Thanks people.

Could be a remote issue, but i can't see how it could manifest itself - just no pic, right? Everything else works ok? Change channels? Volume ok with the remote? Change source inputs? Pic still dark - unless you go up to the set itself and manually turn it on/off. Then no prob.?

I've never heard of such a thing with the Sammys. Must be a job for the service tech. Keep his appointment and then come back and let us know what it was, 'cuz now I'm curious as Hell!

I'm stumped. Anyone else?

Well Sammy never sent out a tech to fix the tv. They jsut replaced it. At first they wanted to give me a used tv, I wasnt having any of that. I was told new ones would not be avail to Feb, well today was the day. Finally got the new one. I have a little over a week to enjoy it, hope it turns out good. Anyone else have the no pic problem with the sammy. Thanks all for reading.
