Richmond, KY - HDTV

I live in Richmond KY and have Cable Basic with High Speed Internet through Time Warner Cable (formerly Adelphia)

I am happy to report that there are (a few) unencrypted QAM channels.

The only HD channel I have found so far (still looking) is:

Discovery Theater HD 104#2 (and dang it looks good)

QAM Digital Standard Definition:

QVC 87#3
Disney 106#5
On Demand 105#0
KET 83#10

- and a couple of Spanish Channels including Spanish Disney

I am using a Air2PC/Airstar HD-5000 and Mythtv (SVN .20) to get the channels. I have Mythtv set on QAM 256.

I hope someone else will have info to add or this helps someone.

Thx..

The Ether..

While others on the Local HDTV forum and the Programming forum bemoan the fact that they cannot get second tier channels in HD, we in the Richmond - Berea - Georgetown KY areas cannot even receive ABC and NBC HD feeds via TWC. We only started getting FOX HD feed three weeks ago. (We've had CBS for quite some time.)

After getting various vague responses from TWC local office folks -- including one that suggested that the locals were not equipped to send HD feeds (not so) -- I sent e-mail and certified letter to local TWC customer support in Georgetown, KY (I was told by TWC phone support that Georgetoen is the central customer support for our region). I have also e-mailed the head of programming of TWC with the inquiry. I have simply asked for some timeframe within which I might expect to begin receiving ABC/NBC HD feeds.

Almost a month has gone by without any response. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get this information? Who to write? How to get actual customer service from "Customer Service?" How to influence the dialogue between TWC and the networks?

Much of the region that is served is out of range for OTA signal, so that is not an option.

Please see the Lexington KY thread .

All of the cities you mentioned are receiving signals from DTV stations off the air.
