ion-man, I sent you a PM and an email. Looking for your custom slide info. As soon as I get it, yours is on the way.

Shipping Tuesday or Wednesday 12-26 or 12-27 will be:

jkv and mheadroom - thanks for spotting the two mistakes. I will either fix the two slides and email them to everyone thus far, or put them somewhere on the web where you can download the corrected .jpg's. This will happen in the first couple of days on January 2007.

Well, back to the egg nog...Merry Christmas

I've attached the script. This is a very *rough* script so far. I don't yet have any functionality to automagically grab apple trailers, though, hopefully sometime it will.

If you want to view Stephens trivia (haven't gotten HD's trivia yet) put all the jpegs into

f:Trivia

Adjust Trivia_num and Time to variables you want. Lower time will result in faster changes.

If you want music, put mp3 or wma files into

f:music

These will just play along with the trivia.

For the Drive in movie clips (from archive org) put them into

f:commer

If you have a cartoon (Looney tunes, Pixar shorts, or don hertsfield) put it into

f:cartoon

If you want to show any of the noisy Studio intros (find lilnks here on avsforum) put them into

f:studio

If you want a THX intro, put it into

f:thx

If you want to put in some Policy trailers put them into

folicy

PSA's go into fsa, trailers go into f:trailers (all over the net)

If you don't want one of those video clips, just change the number to 0

All I ask for is if you can point me in the right direction to buy/dl more video clips.

Oh, and as I have time, I will work on it as well.

MadDucks,

What programs is the script for? Or, what program does this script use?

Edit: OK I see a page or two ago you mentioned a program called "XBOX Media Center" I would think this is different from Windows Media Center. So does Xbox media center run on the PC or the Xbox/360?
XBMC (google for it) runs on Xbox's that have been altered to allow non microsoft code to run on them. Thanks to XBMC I can write python scripts to get it to do what I want.

In essense they become little video players. I currently have my Xbox hooked up to my dell projector.

The current run of Xbox 360s have some video built in from what I hear (not going to buy one until Halo 3). I haven't found any instructions on getting XBMC to run on the 360 though. It is probably just a matter of time.

Thanks MadDucks. I sold my xbox when I purchased a 360. Should have kept it. Didn't know it could do all this.

Can these pre-movie slides be found on the internet? I would like to try and put my own slide show together if I can find some slides.
Just wanted to say thanks. I got the disk yesterday and the slides are really great. I cant wait to get some time to put a slide show together. I showed my wife and she really liked them also.

deerejk,
No, you cant find them on the internet. If you are interested in the slides, send HDReady102 a pm. He will let you know all the info for purchasing the disk of slides. It is well worth the $15.00.

HDReady is asking for pennies compared to what you end up getting...which is 3-5 intros worth of content...professionally done content.

HD, I second what someone else said in broadening the themes used like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc. Perhaps each release could focus on 1-2 in much the same way as this first release focused on Indiana Jones.

For all those putting together an intro using a Mac, here is a quick, easy and FREE way to download HD trailers: go to Apple's trailer page and click any of the HD trailers. When Quicktime opens, go to one of the top menus and find "Show Movie Info". Highlight and copy the web address in this window. Then go to Safari, open the Downloads window (if it's not already open), and press command-v (paste). The trailer automatically starts downloading for your intro pleasure.

Got mine today and looked it over and was very impressed. Great job with this look forward to seeing more in the future. Thanks for the fast shipment to.

Got mine yesterday they look great. Awesome work!
I tried viewing them using my Oppo 970 DVD player but all the slides are about 2/3rds of screen size. Any idea why that might be? Just curious, maybe I'm just overlooking something easy. I've been down with a stomach bug since the 26th so my brain is not working very well. I'm sure I can remedy the problem when I move them to my HTPC in a movie format. I figure that would be the best place to store several variations of the intro in different lengths and orders.

Hello all,

Shipped CD's today (12-28-06) to the following people:

Movieguy2001
ska-t-boy**
barry v s
rickfritz

BigDogues - I had the same thing happen to me on two DVD players the first time I looked at the CD of .jpg's. The text was jagged and some of the pictures looked blurry. I believe that it had something to do with the DVD players algorithm for displaying .jpgs. No problem when viewed on the computer and once I made a slide show and burned it as a DVD - the slides were as clear as they were on the computer. I see that within this forum, someone has just started a topic on creating a slide show. That may turn out to be helpful also.

flyNavy - thanks for the continued support and good review of the slides. I am adding your suggestions to my growing list of requests for the next CD.

Keep the ideas coming for the next CD. Let me know if you have miscellanous slide ideas dealing with cellphones, popcorn, no talking etc.

I put a slide show together for a Wednesday night at the Movies - my friends were thrilled!
I used only the scramble and movie mistakes for this (with Indiana Jones Theme music underscoring), then added an old drive in announcement geared for teens " Bitten by the Love Bug" (no smooching in the theater!). I topped it off with CeRT, and it was great!

I have been putting these together for a while now (I have all of Steven Good's slides) and this last one took a total of 25 - 30 minutes from start to DVD burn completed.

I have a friend who was so good at the scramble he could figure it out the second it showed up on the screen. Bummer for the rest of us

What are you Mac users using to create your intros? I just ordered HDReady's slides and have downloaded a couple of Apple's site (great tip on the download process!) but am not sure what to do from here. Can I build an intro with the slides and trailers in IMovie and then burn it with IDVD?

HD,
Wow, thanks for the prompt shipment. The slides are extremely well done and an excellent value! Thanks for making them available ...
Best regards

HD, got my slides, you did a phenomenal job, thanks very much for doing this. I am in the process of compiling a bunch of them to run in the background for a little gathering we'll be having tonight. Should be a hit. Thanks again.
BTW--- HAPPY NEW YEAR to all !!!

I have started emailing the corrected slides to everyone else who has ordered. If you do not get them in the next day or so, it is either that your Paypal listed email is incorrect or there is a size limitation of above 1.5 meg on your email or it is in your spam filter. Send me a PM if you do not get it and we will look at sending them again (either to a new email address or in three segments to get past the size limitation).

I finished sending out the corrected slide emails. Had a couple of issues:

jkv
PeteC

Got a bounce back saying you cannot receive attachments (not sure if this is size related or a spam filter). Send me a PM with another email address and I will send the file again.

ion-man
AdamKwas

I have no email address for either of you. Send me one in a PM and I will get the corrected slides out.

Anyone who received a CD in 2007 has the corrected version on the CD and hence does not need the email fix.

Thanks

Would a burned DVD-r work in the 360 or PS3? I dont have any spots left for another DVD player in my system to do a slide show with, so it would have to be the 360/PS3.

I used iMovie to build the slide-show with music/transitions/effects, etc. I then followed it with a few imported trailers in HD (downloaded from Apple's site), followed by our home theater FOX theme (created by Reaper). I then went to iDVD, used the theater theme, and voila: you've got yourself one sweet looking, professional movie intro.
