Optoma DV10 speakers question

Thread Starter
I'm trying to use Headphones with DV10 projector. There is an audio out connector on DV10 that is same as a headphone jack. The problem is that the DV10 speakers don't turn off after I plug in the headphone !

In general, if I want to connect external speakers using the headphone jack, how do I turn off the built in speakers ? If volume is turned to zero output from headphone jack also is also turned off.

Manual does not have any help on this topic.

I tried to search the forum, but may be I did not put the right words. Point me to the thread if it already discussed.
Thanks!

Using the DVD player the sound does not shutoff, using a input source the sound does not come from the speakers when you plug in the headphones.

Thanks for the reply Bud - but what do you mean by using an input source ? Using another DVD player or video source? First, it defeats purpose of having onboard dvd player and then I can connect audio from that input source directly to my headphone or speakers. No need to connect audio to DV10. Am I missing something?

just open the projector, find the speaker, and cut the wires... problem solved.
