Pana XR-57 Speaker Suggestion

I'm picking up a Pana XR-57 come Christmas and I would like some guidance as to what speakers would jive best with this receiver.

I have two rear speaker mounts ready for satelites. I'd like to get some suggestions on the lower end of the price range...maybe items that could be ebay specials.

Thanks for the advice up front.

It's a loaded question. The 57 much like my 55 is a very solid piece of hardware for the money. You have many, many, many choices of what you could use. As anyone else around here would tell you, come up with a budget. Once you figure out how much you're willing to spend, the fine people around here will figure out how to spend it for you .

Come up with a budget, add 50%, and members will make a few suggestions.

You might consider the Velodyne CHT front row system. I just picked up a panny 57 and am considering them. I have owned them before and was impressed with them. I am considering getting them again. And for $200 shipped for all 5, the price is right.

You guys are right. A budgeted number would be quite helpful in suggestions.

I actually just had a friend hand me two Optimus satellites and two Yahama 140W L/R speakers that he isn't using anymore, so I think I'll see how these fair with my Pana.

I still will need a center and sub. I'm looking to spend no more than $250 for the pair.

I have used Athena micra 6 system. They sound pretty good for the size.

I guess since you are on a budget and you want to use the yamaha speakers at least try to match the 3 front speakers so it will be a bit smoother soundstage.

Your kind response aside, "loaded question" means something other than what you think it does. (It does not mean "full" question.)

A quick Google reveals:
A loaded question is a question with a false or questionable presupposition, and it is "loaded" with that presumption. The question "Have you stopped beating your wife?" presupposes that you have beaten your wife prior to its asking, as well as that you have a wife. If you are unmarried, or have never beaten your wife, then the question is loaded.

Well, I finally got everything hooked up with my new Panny and with the freeby Yamaha fronts and Optimus satelites, I purchased the above suggested center speaker (a Yamaha) and the sound is amazing. These zero cost speakers will do me fine for the moment. The XR-57, for anyone looking to buy one, was absolutely cake to set-up and get going.

I appreciate the help.
