I've had this issue ever since I got my PS3 and have yet to be able to get it online.

Try recycling (pull the plug and put in back in) your cable modem with the router connected. It will then lock in the MAC address of your router. Should work then.

Sounds like problems with resolving DNS (Domain Name Service)
Are you using DHCP? If so it should detect and add the correct DNS server entries into your PS3's settings. If you are using static IP assignment, you need to manually add those DNS server addresses. You can get them by calling your ISP and asking for them, or your router will have them logged in it's configuration menu somewhere. You can also try using the your routers IP address as a proxy to the DNS servers. Let me know more about your setup and I may be able to assist you more.

I seem to have the same problem. Did you get it working?

no, just got of the phone with Sony. They said call your ISP and ask if theres anything special I have to do. Talked to Comcast and they said NO. When I was getting off the phone with Sony she said if there is nothing Comcast can do call back and they will exchange my PS3 for a new one. I think thats all I can do now.

You probably need to add a lot more very specific info here to get any real help. I'll try to get you started with some questions. I have not opened my PS3 box yet, so I can't envision the screens to ask more specific questions.

- Are you trying to connect Wired or Wireless?
- Do you have the same problem both ways, or does one work?
- Do you get an IP address? If so, what is it?
- Do you get DNS server address? If so, what are they?
- Does your router have mac address filtering turned on? (this stops other machines from connecting to your router until you specifically allow them)
- What type of router do you have?
etc...

Ok after hours and hours of fooling with different sh*t, I got it!!!The problem was the dns ip's,I switched up the order and boom it worked!Don't know why maybe it didn't like the main dns I had.Im a happy camper now. Is anyone playing NFS Carbon, I never can find a race.

I have the error 80710102 and the error "80028ea" or whatever..I'm using a wired connection and I can't seem to get it to work. I have tried changing the dns server to something I found on playstation web site and that didn't help. So i decided to go outward from the source and see what I can find.

Please help me, I would love to play fall of man online.

I started getting kicked off the PSN Network after updating to firmware 1.5 on my PS3. I never once had a disconnect problem before that update.

And now its 18 days since the 1.5 Update was originally released, and still not a single word from Sony regarding the Blu-ray freezes, and random network disconnects. What a mess...

I'm using a PS3 60GB using WiFi to my Linksys G router.
