Has anyone actually purchased Gallo A'diva speakers? I have been attempting to get in touch with the dealers suggested by the Gallo web sight but have not received an answer or any kind of response from them. When I sent an email to the Gallo sight to let them know about this - guess what? No response!John

I have not actually heard either of the speakers. There is one store here in Dutchess county NY that has a lot of high end equipment, but the Gallos were not set up for a demo (at least I think not as the owner was not there. The person who was there never offered to play them). As for the Orbs -I will arrange an appointment for a demo when I am on vacation in January. They are a small company that work out of I think the upper east side of NY.

that's because Anthony has been side-tracked with "Ernest & Julio" Gallo.

I have done hours of listening to both the Gallos and the Orbs at my house.

I guess I like the Orbs more, I bought two complete sets including subs. Price for myself was not a factor in my decision.

Same here.

Although I've never sampled the Adiva's. But I own a pair of Micro's.

I don't have the A'divas, just the Micros, however I am considering upping my mains to A'divas for the extended range. I love the way the Micros sound for such small speakers. I can't stress enough the benefit of having identical speakers or drivers across the front- no problems hearing dialogue at low volumes (which was a big deal when I mixed Infinity and JBLs). For purely HT, the Micros are great, but I listen to music too, hence the desire to upgrade.

As far as emailing Gallo goes, give them a couple of days. I just emailed them a week or so ago, and they took 3-4 days to get back, but they were very helpful.

One thing I would mention, as an Orb owner who has had their 7.1 system for about four months, these little balls require some break-in time to really tell what they can do. If you compare them right out of the box with anything, you are not hearing what the Orbs will be after some "loosening up". Compared to when they were new, my speakers are cleaner louder, and a lot sweeter. I think that you can tell I am a real fan of Orbs, they produce way more than I thought that they ever would, and my wife loves the way that they disappear into the room.

Just to add my two cents.

I have a 3 way Gallo Nucleus Micro system, with some really junky surrounds. I have been planning on replacing the surrounds with another pair of Micros forever. Last January I had a chance to visit a dealer in Dallas, TX, where I listened to his Micros, and compared them to the Micro Ti's and the A'diva Ti's.

I really like my Micros, but they do have a bit of a mid-range excess to them. The Micro Ti's did not have that mid-range hump, but to my ear, and with the dealer's equipment (a Denon receiver, sorry don't remember the model), they had a rather harsh high end. All in all I thought the original Micro still sounded better.

The A'diva Ti, which I normally wouldn't have considered, and just plugged in on a whim sounded fantastic. It did not have the mid-range coloration of the Nucleus Micro, and while it definitely had more high-end output, it was very smooth sounding, not at all harsh like the Micro Ti's.

Now instead of scrimping and saving to get two more Nucleus Micros for surrounds, I'm scrimping and saving to get two A'diva Ti's for the front set, and send those Micros to the rear positions.

I also got to play a bit with the Reference 3.1s during that visit. Wow! I saw two people walk out of the store that day with a set of them. Everyone who listened to them where blown away.

I have an A'Diva Ti for my center, a pair of Due's for mains, Micro Ti s for rear & a T2 sub. I listened to a bunch of different speakers, in different places & for me, based on all the factors -- sound, waf & looks. . . they won. There's lots of good equipment out there. My ears really like the Due' tweeters. They remind me of my old Micro-Acoustics. I also liked the dealer & salesman & that carried some weight also.

I got the 5.1 Gallo Adiva Ti set (with the TR-2 subwoofer) at Stereo Exchange in Manhattan. Nice sales people, reasonable prices, and delivery was pretty quick. My only compaint is that the high-end speaker wire (I believe it was Kimberkable) they sold me was barely able to fit through the bloody speaker stands. It took me hours of jockying the wire to finally get it properly threaded through the curve of the stands. It made my self-installation a bit hellish but boy was it worth it. These speakers are freaking amazing.

I haven't heard the Orbs but on paper the Adiva Ti's appear to be superior speakers. A lot of people believe the Orbs are more cost-effective but in direct comparissons many people have said that they feel the Adiva Ti's are slightly better than the highest-end Orbs (but the Orbs beat out the original Adiva). Again, I have not heard the Orbs for myself so I really can't say anything beyond that. Either way you go I think you'll be absolutely amazed!

I'd second this, but for the Gallos as well. I recently switched my center and right speaker (all are Micros), and have noticed that the right now plays a little softer compared to the left when in stereo mode. They were both purchased at the same time, and has gotten about 3 times the play in stereo mode versus 5.1 (guessing something on the order of 30 versus 100 hours). The setup hasn't changed (actually double checked to make sure) besides that one move. I'm keeping an ear on it for any changes.

I've already said this in two other threads but I mine as well here too.
Heard the floorstanding Gallos and I thought they were amazing. Right now they are on my short list of speakers to buy next.

The new references are really good. I have a 5 speaker system of the originals and it is outstanding.

Front = Ultimates - (4 drivers 1 tweeter)
Rear = Reference - (2 drivers 1 tweeter)
Center = Refernce - (1 driver 1 tweeter)
