For those with problems, WHICH PS/3 do you have? I suspect there are some differences in the USB ports on 20/60 models versus 40/80 models. I suspect trying to get one of the newer USB-powered large drives is gonna be a problem on PS/3.
Something those with a problem could TRY is using a USB hub that has it's own power supply, so that the drive is drawing power from the USB hub, not from the PS/3 itself.

OK! I was using a simpletech, portable 160GB, that was not being located, but I did not create VIDEO, music folders in that. Then I formated to fat32, and created folders, now ps3 can see it. But problems are that on my window xp, pc, I can put any big files on that hard drive, says no room.
I am returning dat to costco, and ordered a terrabite drive from them
AcomData PureDrive 1TB USB 2.0 and eSATA External Hard Drive -
What will be the best way to use it with my window xp, and ps3? please advise?
thanks
Oh yes! I am using 60GB PS3
