Over the weekend i picked this tv up for $399.99 from cusa and havnt opened the box yet. This sale was only for the 8th and 9th of this past weekend. now its $699.99 ive been tryin to find info/reviews all over the net about this tv and only see it in cusa with 3 user reviews which is not enough for me to open the box. I bought this tv for my bedroom. i want to play my xbox 360 on it when the wife hogs my 37" in the living room.
I also would like to watch movies from time to time on it while in bed. ive been hearing stuff about ati chipset causing ghosting and green tint on the 5 series model. This tv does have that chipset in it. ghosting is a no no for me and if this tv suffers from it its goin back to the store pronto. has anyone on here have experience with this tv? thnx in advance.

Bought one too for the same deal at CUSA as a TV for my son. Great deal considering the built in ATSC tuner. I haven't opened the box either because I'm waiting for more reviews, there wasn't even one a display, and I've been told that there is a 15% restocking fee for open box returns at CUSA. I emailed the company and am waiting on a reply regarding the restocking fee. Anyone have experiences with the restocking fee at CUSA in LCD TVs?

I've had the Olevia 537H for a couple of months and am extremely impressed with it. Haven't noticed any ghosting or green tint issues. However, the 226V has a lower rated contrast ratio (750:1 vs 1600:1) and slower response time (12 ms vs 8 ms). I would also like to hear from other owners of this 226V model. Impressions? Are the contrast and response time noticeable issues? Does it have a QAM tuner like the 537H?

Can't help you with this, but will say that I bought my 537H at the recommendation of a good friend that has the 26" Olevia. He is moving it to his bedroom due to also buying the 537H. What could you find better for the price you paid?

I am waiting for more reviews to open my 226V too. However, I saw one review by Ceprise in different thread. It doesn't say much about the SD viewing.

1. The "Model" you have.
Syntax Olevia 226V 26"LCD

2. What convinced you to purchase this particular model.
I wanted the sale 23" HD-Ready Olevia 323V for a bedroom and as a starter HDTV. CompUSA Sold out at 9PM Thanksgiving Thursday; I went up to 226V with built-in HD tuner, also on sale.

3. What you like best about your LCD.
Built-in HDTV tuner; PQ; Great size for bedroom!, 35 lbs VS 98 lbs for CRT!

4. What you don't like about your LCD.
Manual on CD, not hard copy; limited sound out /in options.

5. What "Feature(s)" you wish your LCD had.
Sound out is line level; wish I could use TV remote to adjust both my HDTV sound and Home Theater sound.

6. What advice or suggestion would you make to the "Manufacturer" about your LCD.
More sound options

7. What was your biggest "Surprise" after you received your LCD.

Price dropped to point where I went for a HDTV built in tuner/LCD/Home Theater DVD over flat screen CRT/Combo DVD/Non-digital tuner.

10. Any additional information that you want to add is encouraged.
Great Picture; football in 720p is great! my wife can't wait to see 24 and Des. Housewives in HD!

I've got the same thing! I bought the same time as You guys and the ghosting is there! I'm still thinking if I can live with it , because not every chanel is the same . Some very bad but some pretty good. Plus the sports are coming in good quality. ( hockey , soccer ) I dont know anything about the restocking fee but if I decide to take it back I will !

There are quite a few Olevia owners on AVSforum so given enough time I'm sure other 226V owners will let you know what they think of the TV. The 226V is a relatively new set so it may take a while to get a variety of opinions.

I'm on my second Olevia TV. I owned the prior generation 26" set (the LT26HVE) and loved it. Great picture for the price, especially HD. I upgraded to the new Olevia 32" set (the 332H) about a month ago and couldn't be happier. I'm using the set on my HTPC and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The HD picture over HDMI is fantastic. I have my xbox hooked up via component. Again, no complaints.

I just recently bought the 26" Olevia LCD. The TV is incredible, I love it! I use it for my Xbox 360 gaming and my home theater (DVD through HDMI.) The only problem I have, is adjusting the contrast/brightness...sometimes the darks are too dark - but then again that could just be the lighting in my room combined with my funky manual settings lol.

Great TV, keep it - you will love it.

I've been using mine for a week and for the price, I like it. Got the 4 year $50 repair or replace warranty so in a year or two, I kinda hope it breaks down so maybe I can exchange it for something else. I don't have cable/satellite and still have a set of bunny ear antennas that capture digital channels and it's pretty cool to see the difference over analog TV. Granted, this is my first time watching digital HD channels over analog. Sports do look pretty good in 720p and 1080i, at least on Fox and ABC. I have my Wii hooked up via composite, until my component cables come in later. Can't wait to see the difference there. Currently debating how to hook my PC to it- either through VGA-VGA male, or DVI-HDMI. If I get an xbox360, I'd use the VGA port, but if I get a PS3 too, then... well, I'm out of connections to consider, except maybe S-Video.

But anyway, you really do need to adjust the color quality when you switch inputs. I don't think it retains settings per input, but I'll double check later. I have the TV hooked to an old stereo receiver and while the ad only mentions stereo out, it actually has RCA out as well. And there's a huge difference, since plugging something into the headphone jack mutes the TV, but not the audio out. So I tend to use the sound coming out of my stereo speakers more than the TV (while playing Wii, but not when watching TV).

Does anyone have any issues with lagging when playing games or am I just being paranoid?

I picked up a 226V at CompUSA for their sale price. I planned on getting the 227V at CC but missed the holiday sale. At first I was a little put off by the inferior specs of the 226 compared the 227 but decided the cost savings was substantial enough to try it. It's used as a computer monitor/TV in a spare room using the VGA and tuner inputs.

As a TV it's setup with a direct Comcast cable feed and was able to pick up analog, unscrambled HD, and many digital channels. The analog SD is okay, the digital SD is a little better, and the HD is pretty good depending on the channel.

As a monitor I have the video card set to 1024x768 which fills most of the screen but leaves about 2" of black bars per side unless a stretch mode is used. It is not as clear as a hi-res computer monitor but still looks okay to me and the other users in the house. I like the way it can be set to auto power-on/off when the computer is in standby mode.

So far so good for only four Ben Franklins. Everyone likes it and is shocked when I tell them what it cost. It really fits the bill nicely in this application.

Olevia finally put this model up on their website. The specs there say 1366x768.

Also, there's a firmware update available. Have to register your TV, then create an account and download.
