Is The King of Queens coming to an end?

Wondering what exactly is going on with the series? You'd think CBS would treat it with more respect after Kevin James got an Emmy nomination last year, but now they're running concurrent episodes mid-season leads me to believe it is coming to it's 9th and final season.

In any event, I think the show has had it's full run and don't think there's much more they could do with it.

It is the final season. But they are only doing concurrent episodes for two weeks. And the ratings have been good.

"The ninth season premiere of THE KING OF QUEENS (P) won its time period in households (6.2/10), viewers (9.42m), adults 25-54 (3.9/10) and adults 18-49 (3.2/09). THE KING OF QUEENS SPECIAL (S) won its time period in households (6.6/10), viewers (10.17m), adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10)."

I actually stopped watching the year Lea Remini ballooned up to a state where it was a joke to watch her. She was always wearing ridiculous clothes and using pillows and the like (just like JLD did in Seinfeld). The show also wasn't funny anymore, to me. I also felt they had did all they could do with the premise.

Then, I started seeing some of last season's shows in reruns on UPN, and they were great. I've now reset a Season Pass for the new season but haven't watched the new ones, yet.

I still catch most episodes, but the wife and I used to never miss this show. We stopped watching regularly a season or two ago when it seemed that the two stopped liking each other. It became much less funny and much more depressing.

Lea looks great again so I find it worth watching again but I agree it probably has run its story lines into the ground

I stopped watching after I found out the guy who plays Spencer is a hate monger.

Nothing wrong with being a hate monger if you hate the right people. Ask Al Sharpton and Jessie "hymietown" Jackson.

Thats because she was pregnant.

I still like this show, granted it's not as good as in the past but it still has it's moments.

Lea lost the pounds but aged a bit.

one of my favorite shows... Leah is looking good. I've only seen the first episode where Doug bought the Ice Cream truck... too bad the show is coming to an end but most sitcoms don't last 9 years... there's only so much they can do.

what makes you say that? he's a stand up comedian and a pretty funny one at that...

Thanks for starting this thread so I could find out this show is still worth watching. DW and I stopped watching KoQ shortly after it looked like "Carrie" was going to be wearing bags permanently and the delightful fights lost their ebb and flow. I'll try to get it back on the playlist for this last season.

Usually has a few laugh out loud moments in it... We were out of comedies to TiVo, except for The Office, so I was really glad to see this make one last hurrah...

"On April 9, net will bring back "King of Queens" -- which goes on hiatus after its Jan. 3 broadcast -- in the 9:30 p.m. Monday slot."

The episode last week where Doug scares Deacon's son Major and then keeps trying to make things better only makes it worse is a a classic. The ending had me rolling.

I agree DaveFi - That episode was funny. And the ending was classic >

I liked the episode, but what happened to Deacon's other son, Kirby? It seems weird that he'd just be missing. Maybe they figure most viewers don't pay attention?

The other odd thing is that the same actor that played Carrie's old boss is playing Carrie's new boss. With all the actors out there, why pick the same guy? It's kind of distracting to me.

How bout the fact that every outdoor New York scene has the mountains outside LA in it. MASH, Little House on the prairie, Dukes of Hazzard anyone? It seems they don't even try anymore with the outside stuff. Great show though.

Yeah, and my wife noticed that the front door from the establishing shots doesn't match the front door on the outside of the house on the set.

It's still a dang funny show, though. I'm glad to see that it's ending before jumping the shark, but I'll miss it.

Tonights the Curtain Call, I hope it's a good one. It will be missed!
This show will be missed. Nine years is a long time for a comedy to last and King was always a good choice when nothing else is on. That can not be said about most comedies.

I agree I will miss it but like all shows I guess it has run its course.

Yes, the last few shows had some good guest stars too. Look for Lanie Kazan tonight, and Adam Sandler was on a few episodes ago.

When did this show get this bad? I watch the replays all the time on a local channel here and they are 20x better than this, I quit on the finale really quick
