Anyone still playing the old XBOX?

I decided to fire up the ole XBOX tonite and play some games. I found games online playing 'PGR2', 'RSC2' ,and 'Forza' . I have to say I had some serious fun.
And I am also suprised how good the graphics are on these games. I love my 360 but to be honest I would have been happy playing the XBOX for awhile longer.
I think I am going to play the ole games a little more often again.

Xbox had another year left imo. They only released the 360 to get a jump on Sony and Nintendo.
I loaned my xbox and all my games to a friend. Hes telling me about the games hes playing (like mercenaries) and making me wish I was playing them again. Good times.

I play it still for TOCA 3, NFL 2K5, NCAA Football 2007 (which I think is superior to the XBox 360 version), and NBA Inside Drive 2004.

From a technical standpoint,I think xbox could have gone another year.If any system was at the end of it's rope from a performance standpoint,it was PS2.I do think making the 360 100% backwards compatible(doubt it will happen) would soften the blow somewhat. There are a few games on the ole xbox I'd buy or repurchase just for collector's purposes.

I wasl playing mine off and on until a week or so ago. I finally "loaned" it to my brother-in-law who's only console is his wife's Gamecube. I had pity on him and gave him an upgrade.
It did have another year. Black looked as good as some of the games I have played on the 360 and was more fun too. I sold mine though.
Still have mine connected...never getting rid of it...like to be able to play 4:3 games at 480p so my TV can stretch....
still playing mine - just finished GoW on Insane and have nothing to play until Lost Planet comes out (or Rainbow 6 Vegas comes down in price).

just picked up The Suffering: Ties that Bind for the Xbox. great game.

I have two modded Xboxs and we have tournaments (mostly Halo2) at my house every week so I still use mine, 360 still does not have many good split screen games. The Wii has started to take over though....

Yea ..when I was playing last night the sound is just as good as the 360 because of the optical and the graphics are only slightly less desirable. But never did I say "these graphics suck".
The machine ran smooth and quite. The online system works great, it may not have as many features but I dont use those anyway.
And the games are darn fun! I was happy to see people still online playing too.
You are right, there was definately another year or more left in it.
I may run to Walmart today and see what games are on sale cheap. :p

I loved my original xbox but the hard drive died about 3 weeks ago, forcing me to buy a 360. I may go ahead and have it fixed by MS.

I totally agree that platform had more life in it, and really wish microshaft would have done what Sony did with the Ps2, just giving it a facelift or something.

I'm also disappointed about how some of my old games work on the 360, such as Ghost Recon 2.

Yep, still use mine. I find many of the EA games are better on the xbox. (Tiger woods 06,07)

Otherwise to play those games I've not finished. And still have the saves on the xbox.

I don't use it for Xbox games anymore, but it's on more than the 360 for its emulators, XBMC, and Gentoo.
I didn't get an Xbox until last March (exclusively for XBMC). But I play lots of games on it: Ninja Gaiden Black, NFL 2k5, NBA 2k6, Halo 2, and a couple others. It seems like every game I play my roommate goes "wow those graphics are amazing." The graphics do look good, esepcially for a "last gen" system. I don't have a 360 though.

I have been playing Splinter Cell DA on the original xbox. Finished the 360 version and couldn't get enough...
Halo 2 is on the Xbox. I just don't like the way it feels on the 360.
I sold my Xbox to my bro in-law since his took a crap 5 months ago. Just last week I traded in all my Xbox games for credit on 360 games.

Neither of my two closest friends, that I game with all the time, own 360's yet.

So consequentally there is a lot of Forza, PGR2, and Halo2 played over LIVE via the original xbox.

If only I could use the 360's wireless controllers on xbox 1.

Yea..that was the first thing I noticed when I went back to the old machine was the controllers seemed kinda big and bulky. MS really did a top notch job on the new wireless's.

I played Forza online last night and I am terrible at that game. I forgot how realistic it is.
Back in the day my favorite was PGR2 online . I was fairly decent at that game. I had a heck of a time getting into a room last night though.

I just hooked up my xbox a month back with component cables fed into my DVDO iScan HD+. I have to set the xbox to 480p and have the iScan upscale things to 720p (for some reason the iScan won't process or pass thu 720p or 1080i video from component cables). It looks great, I wish I could have hooked up the optical cable for 5.1 sound, but I only have a couple ports available (my 360 and Tosh HD A-1 has them).

I've been playing Painkiller, Soul Caliber 2, Chronicles of Riddick and a few others on the xbox. I can't wait for the new b/c update so I can play Psychonauts on the 360.

I used to love the xbox S controller, but the 360's feels so much better. I hope Msoft can get more titles compatible on the 360, the old games look great on there.

it took a year for the 360 to come into it's own; IMHO it was GRAW and oblivion that set the bar; and the dowloadable updates, more content online etc.

ps3 will be similar; i probably won't even consider buying one for a year or two

I had the same problem with optical inputs. Search amazon for an optical splitter. I have both my xbox and xbox 360 going into one optical port on my receiver. It can do 1 to 2 or 2 to 1.

I haven't had them both on at the same time though. Not sure what would happen then. :p

I still play it often for the games that are not backwards compatible. Can You have LIVE hooked up to both an original XBOX and a 360?

I have both my 360 and XBOX 1 hooked up to the router and it works fine. I could even see what my friends were playing on the 360. I dont run both the same time though...not sure what would happen if anything.

I have a 360 and two old Xboxes, plus 2 Live accounts. I've had both the 360 and an old Xbox signed into Live, playing Halo 2 at the same time. No problem. You just can't use the same account on both machines at the same time.
