Before we got Comedy Central HD, I would watch South Park episodes in HD via On Demand. You may want to check and see if your local Comcast head-end provides episodes in HD.

Thanks, I never even thought about that. I'm going to check it out.

I feel like I was suppose to think last nights episode was funny, but it just wasn't. I'm a big fan of making fun of NasCrap but... the whole stupider and poorer is pretty obvious so it became more irritating than funny.
I kept feeling like I was missing what they were trying to say... it felt like they were trying to do more than poke at Nascar. With Danica Patrick and the Vagisil sponsorship... it felt like they were trying to "say" something else, but it went over my head I think.
Nah, didn't go over your head, it just wasn't funny.

Not the best episode ever, but its good to have SP back.

I was loving how they were making fun of how sports are covered and generalized. My gf and I got a kick out of PTI being on South Park. I think the 3rd act was definitely the weak spot of the episode.

Move to Charlotte and you'll think it was hilarious unless you're a NASCAR fan.

^I'll say it once and I'll say it again. After seeing something like Top Gear where they go to the South, I have no desire to go to that area ever in my life... I have a feeling it would be the same in Charlotte according to your post. No offense.

The other example is the latest episode of Weeds where they go to the carnival...

I wondered the same. Parts of me thought Cartman's accent was kind of funny, but certainly not funny enough to do an entire episode. It felt like the Vagisil guy was supposed to be funny, but I couldn't piece it together if he was. The episode was definitely flat for me.

The only real laugh I got out of it was whatever Cartman said the first time he wrecked his car.

It's definitely a culture shock.

Weeds wasn't in the South, I think it was Montana.

Without being "racist" it's still the same ignant thinking that I don't get.

I think your post shows you get it just fine.

While it wasn't mentioned on today's PTI, the South Park heads of Kornheiser and Wilbon were added in the group of cut-out heads.

I was wondering... I DVRed ATH and PTI today while out and haven't watched yet... I was hoping they noticed and would comment. ATH sometimes works references from South Park and Family Guy into the show (at least Reali does)... so I was hoping to see a nod after seeing them "appear" on South Park.

The South Park people must be fans of PTI, because I didn't see them poking fun at PTI but rather using PTI as a vehicle to poke fun at Nascar... the PTI guys on South Park actually seemed to be respectably represented.

Not ONE single nomination for Best Comedy. Why shouldn't SP ever be up for Best Comedy? Even my Modern Family loving wife thinks that SP is funnier than Modern Family. That's the point. There have been many (but not all) BRILLIANT seasons of South Park that are worthy of Best COMEDY, not simply Best Animated Program (which are for single eps anyways).

I hope that the reason they get screwed as to Best Comedy noms is that they have an odd season schedule with seven eps airing in March and April and the other seven are in October and November, and thus for emmy season it's really the second half of one season plus the first half of the next. I hope it's not an emmy bias against extremely funny programs that happen to be animated or an anti-Trey and Matt bias. Family Guy has a Best Comedy nod, but not SP? IMHO, better be because of the odd scheduling. There have been stretches of SP that have been too good to NOT be worthy of Best Comedy consideration.

Sadly Houston area is that small percentage of Comcast territory that isn't DOCSIS 3.0 and supposedly it is not coming any time soon. The areas that have DOCSIS 3.0 have the "World of More" with all the HD channels. Really sad, actually (for Houston area Comcast subs I mean).

I bet the SP producers are happier about them winning a Peabody than an Emmy.

Thanks. It is sad and one would think Houston would be a more "dominant" area for Comcast. I think I'm actually more irritated that NatGeo is a "special" channel and not part of the regular HD lineup.

That was one of the funniest episodes of South Park ever. I loved how they made fun of New Jersey and especially the Jersey Shore and Snooki.

Snooki want smush smush.
Hysterical. Absolutely hysterical. I'm wondering if they might catch some flak for the airplanes, though.
They're going to get some heat with the ending.
I was hoping that they would have referenced Chinpokomon when Randy called the President of Japan.

This show never ceases to make me lmao. Simply amazing. The news reporter, Tanjovi. OMG funny. And the Cartman to Stan, you're a Ginger, a Jew, and your from Jersey, thats 3 strikes. Priceless....

"The 3 J's." I agree, awesome.

Jersy one blew (well... except for the ending)

LMAO @ newest episode.

I thought the Jersey Shore episode was okay, but you almost have to be a fan of Jersey Shore (or Real Housewives of NJ) to really enjoy the humor. I don't watch any of those Jerseys shows at all.

Now, "Insheeption," that's a classic SP episode. Even fans of Inception, like myself, think it's hilarious and they did a fabulous job making fun of a great movie. But, if you haven't seen Inception, you wouldn't get this episode at all (same with the Jersey episode, if you don't watch those shows, you may not get or appreciate the humor).
