.inrelease news today, Sony has confirmed that Marie Antoinette will be released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on 2/13. They've also set The Grudge 2 for release on DVD and UMD on 2/6 (we suspect a Blu-ray will be announced soon as well).

MGM & Fox have just announced the individual release of some of the Bond films on 2/6, specifically For Your Eyes Only, Goldeneye, Goldfinger, License to Kill, The Spy Who Loved Me and Thunderball (SRP $14.98 each). The others will presumably follow in April or May. It's important to note, however, that these releases appear to be single-disc editions, without the second disc of extras that were included in the previous releases and in the current Ultimate Edition box sets. So plan accordingly.

While we're on the topic of 007... consider this Rumor Mill worthy, but our industry sources have informed us that Sony is looking at 3/13 as the street date for Casino Royale on DVD & Blu-ray.

If true, this would be great. I loved this movie!

Hmm...wonder if they'll be sneaking in BD announcements of those other Bond titles at CES

Casino Royale's release on DVD is scheduled for March 19, 2007 and will also be accompanied by releases on UMD and Blu-ray Disc.

It better be day-and-date. It's one of the main reasons I went format neutral. Releasing some of the older Bond flicks in HD wouldn't suck too much either.

I hope this image is the cover art, it's so badass

I guarantee you that will not be the cover. The cover is the one where bond is at the poker table.

Seeing as how I just bought the Ultimate Edition DVDs, I have no plans to ever rebuy the movies again for a long ass time.

Casino Royale on the other hand is a must. I hope I have a PS3 by then.

March 19th is a Monday. March 13th is a Tuesday. I would put my money on the Tuesday one being the correct one between the two, given that Tuesdays are normal for release dates.

I have had the new boxed sets in my hands multiple times at Costco and Target and Best Buy, but I have kept myself from buying them in hopes that they will be coming out on Blu-ray. It sounds like they will be doing single disc releases of the Bond films next year, and so my fingers are crossed for HD Bond in '007. I know I will end up paying a lot more money--and I have a feeling that I will be missing out on the extra features, but it will be worth it when I can watch the Bond movies in high def. (Except for maybe Diamonds Are Forever. My least favorite.)

Wow. That's exciting. Glad to see a good movie released. 2007 might be a great year for Blu-Ray owners. I'm going to pick up Casino Royale and For Your Eyes Only. I just hope $20 off $50 is still available through Google Checkout at buy.com by then

I hope they announce some other Bond titles on Blu-ray besides "Casino Royale". Just to be clear, those other ones refer to regular DVDs (from my reading of it).

I'm not worried so much about extra features. I just hope when the older Bond flicks eventually get released on Blu-ray, Sony/MGM includes the original mono tracks. The 5.1 remixes on a lot of the early films incorporated new sound FX that were really distracting.

Well I had never seen more than 3 Bond movies before seeing Casino Royale, so these box sets were a great way to see them. And I'm the exact opposite from you becuase I think Diamonds are Forever is the best of the them (Nothing could top Casino Royale). I'd probably say You Only Live Twice is my second favorite with Live and Let Die at 3rd.

As for the worst Bond movies, I'd say The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, and Goldfinger. Lazenby was by far the worst Bond though, but at least the movie he was in was good.

Don't hate me, but this is the first new Bond I have wanted to see in ages, and I am really excited that my first viewing of it will be in 1080p on my fabulous ps3!

Great news, happy day!

now about lotr, and sw....

I have two small children and we are waiting till my 3 year old son is 5 before watching Star Wars (the original 3, haven't discussed the prequels), it would be so amazing if they could experience this for the first time in 1080p.

I wouldnt expect either for a couple more years

Your son will probably be older then 5 before SW ever comes out in HD. I dont know why you would wait 2 year to watch any movie though, put the dvd version in and watch the upscaled version then again in HD in a couple years if it ever comes out

The things I'd do to be 5 again !

Casino Royale was a very enjoyable film. Frankly I couldn't understand the disdain towards Daniel Craig from Bond purists. I found the gritty theme and the lack of any outlandish gadgetry to be a refreshing departure from the silliness of the past few Bond movies.

It'd be VERY hard for Sony to screw up this one .

Here's hoping for an AVC/VC-1 encode with lossless audio and the works !

when this movie comes to blu-ray i sure hope i have $1000 to spare on a player! i recently returned the Panasonic player...i saw this movie in theatres and absolutely loved it! it was unlike any other Bond movie ever made...in fact the only thing "Bond" about the movie was his name...other than that it was completely different, and thank god for that...movies like this will sell BD players! well, at least to me they will!

Am I the only one that didn't like this movie?? It had a ridiculous plot. It had a terrible, terrible ending, almost made me want my money back. No gadgets at all (I know they're trying to move away from that but COME ON!!). However, I'll probably get it anyways since it's still the best Bond movie since Goldeneye.

You didn't like it. You wanted your money back for going to see it in the theater. But you'll buy it for your home? Why? How much re-watch value could there be in a movie that you hated?

Hopefully the cover will look something similar to that.

I like the other image better, I hope Sony releases it with 2 covers so we could choose

My problem with this Bond actor is that he looks too much like Russian President Vladimir Putin. When I see Daniel Craig, I think of Vladimir and so I can't take this Bond seriously.

Because it's a very stylish movie that would look good in HD and it also had some decent action.

The opening chase scene is going to be kick ass in HD
