With any promotion, Amazon put in the qualifier of "Promotional offer valid for a limited time only." This would allow them to pull it at anytime without notice. BUT, one would assume since HD resolution software hasn't been avaiable for even a year that they wouldn't pull the "year long discount" only 8 months into it.
Edit: The clause also allows Amazon to extend the promotion
Which I got the same email saying it would go through the end of calendar end. So appox. 20 months of a 10% discount is a nice thing.
