Eat Crow if your side looses?

Im very curious. Will you eat crow at the AVS buffet if your side loses? While reasonable and logical, I have taken shots at the BD side, and it would be cowardly of me to not admit it. If HD DVD looses I will eat crow, and admit it. Will you if your side loses?

Some of you have posted so many posts against the other side (many coming straight from your stink hole) that you will need a few extra glasses of wine "hint hint" before you post how wrong you were.

I have to admit there have been some posts I have read which I wished I remember becuase I wanted to revisit if my side wins and say...."So, you still think your point is as valid as you claimed?

This thread is meant in good humor, but some should step up if one side trumps the other. Dont you think?

I'm sure that the Blu-Ray supporters will gladly embrace HD DVD once it officially wins.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year y'all

^^^no i dont mean embrace the other side if yours loses. That goes without saying becase each side just wanted good HD content. I mean post on here that all your hard core posts were wrong.

Is there anything constructive and useful coming after that?

I have covered all my HD bases by buying both HD-DVD and BD players. My support goes for HD-DVD at the moment because it lived up to its promises. I am still waiting for the BD to officially launch at its leisure and surpass HD-DVD at its whim. If BDA can afford to launch their "format for the next ten years" with gems like Hitch, , TDN:BoRB, HoFD and TFE, I cannot fathom how they would fare if they were the only game in town.

He should have PM'd the OP the correct spelling. I think that is what he is getting at.

Having both a HD DVD (HD-A1) and BR (PS3) player, I don't care but while they both exist my preference on cross platform titles will go with HD DVD all things equal. For exclusives, I'm obviously limited.

I have made very few criticisms of HD DVD or its supporters, possibly occasionally in defense but these criticisms are irrelevant.

I think both formats are acceptable as are the companies promoting them.

Blu-ray has always struck me as superior but if HD DVD wins, I don't see any reason for profound sadness or "eating crow".

I also don't see this as much of a competition. Both sides, and their supporters, are facing a general indifference to the product. If we want the idea of high quality hd media to win over the various alternatives, we should be supporting the general idea.

Here is what I think is going to happen. When one format wins the other sides fanboys will be scarce and or have tons of excuses. Humility is not a characteristic that is considered a virtue these days.

This whole "eating crow" thing is a symptom of the problem on the board as of late. The entire debate has turned into a contest of who "wins". I watch football to see a contest, I come here for facts and intellectual discourse on the merits and problems of each format. Lately though it has just turned into a pissing contest to see who can post the most crap to get their side to "win" so the other side will "eat crow".

if HD DVD wins, BD fanboys will say "it's because BD have never really lunched the format"
if BD wins, HD DVD fanboys will say "it's because the retailers are favouring BD"

Eat crow? No I will just mark it under my 'why I am a Loser' list.

Probably not far off.

there is no losing format.

bluray will never die unless ps3 die. and that wont happen unless a nuclear war happens and blast the plants where ps3 are made.

hd-dvd will survive since it has some hardcore fanatics who belong to the hd-dvd skulls and bones society lol

hmmm and i am little drunk too. that is what x-mas does i guess

Why would anyone have a "side"? These are consumer items, not sports teams. Buy whatever suits your need and/or budget.
Well, now that I'm format-neutral, I ain't worried about it.

Load time on my HD-A1 frustrates me.

Lack of IR support on my PS3 frustrates me.

The titles I've watched on either format looked good PQ-wise and sounded good AQ-wise.

Should Blu-Ray win, I'll probably apologize to some of the people to whom I gave my opinion that HD-DVD was going to win.

As for eating crow? I think paying $500 or $600 for a player only to have it not support a viable standard is crow enough.

How about Humble Pie?

I won't be eating any crow. I believe that unless HD-DVD attracts more studio and CE support it cannot win but I am not going to eat crow if it does indeed attract that support and then goes on to win the format war.

I don't have my self worth invested in either format.

Boy, I'll bet you'll wish it didn't have scratch protection if that happens...

I'll be happy to admit which of my points have been wrong, just as I've striven to do all along. And since I own both formats, it'll be ok (Although I will HAVE to buy a newer HD DVD player if the format survives, I really don't like the A1).

Happy holidays everyone!

Sides? I don't have a side. I wasn't even aware that sides existed outside the minds of people who believe in such things.

No reason for me to eat crow:

If HD-DVD loses I will still get many years of enjoyment out of my HD-A1 by watching my custom made HD-DVD movie disks, listening to audio CDs, and enjoying beautifully upconverted SD DVDs...

If BD loses I will get many years of enjoyment out of my PS3 as a next generation gaming platform/virtual supercomputer/SACD player/media center...

Great news for me!

Well... I'm more of a "Give me the least evil format", kind of a guy... and my preference would be to not have to buy parallel hardware.

I have see some significant mis-infomartion campaigns goming on around here... particulalry by a few specific folks. I've got at least one bet going on.... should I lose that bet, my .sig is hos for a month.

Maybe this thread will give him an idea or two... I personally think:

Mmmm.... Crow.... It's What's For Dinner!

would look mighty handsome in my sig.... or maybe his!

Amen. And even though I own both formats, if HD DVD loses not only will I eat crow, but I will literally eat a crow. Preferably domesticated.
