Definitive Technology speakers. Good eye on the shrink wrap, hopefully will get to pull it off this weekend.

Love it! Moved it there from the right hand corner by the front tower speaker. Made such a huge difference. All my listening positions are in a horizontal line in the back of the room so the sub sounds great anywhere you sit.

^^^Wow, nice setup, very clean. How far is your seating distance and what gear do you use?

I think I see a HSU sub and an Onkyo receiver .

Thanks! Seating distance for both rows are about 10-15ft. Sorry don't have the tape measure handy right now. You've got a good eye, HSU VTF 3.3 and an Onkyo 605.

Other equipment includes:
Axiom M22s and a VP150
Bose Redline Dual Cubes x4 (I know!)
Toshiba D2
Mitsubishi HD1000u
DIY WilsonArt Laminate Screen

The Mitsy is your projector? Lucky to have a room this shape and size my man to have this....I'm waiting for my other Aperion's surrounds to come in before I post my pics.

Nothing fancy, but it gets the job done.

Hey Milt, the seats were purchased during a powerbuy from a fellow forumite - Serge from HTAuthority. They are Coaster Showtime seats.

Haha Thanks! I agree with the Bose, but they were part of our original sound system from over a decade ago! Until they croak, or we give them away, they are there to stay. They do a decent job as surrounds and since the 605 can't matrix the HD signal to 7.1 half of them don't get used anyways. To be honest, the receiver will most likely be upgraded before the Bose will.

Thanks. It's funny because originally, we thought our basement wouldn't work with a projector. We thought the room was too long and the ceiling too low to successfully to use one. In fact, my first post on AVS dated on May 25 of '07 asked that very question. After getting the advice from some forum members, we ordered some new speakers and a projector and our project started. I've been reading this forum religiously since. Here is my original post: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=853591

That masking system - is that the screen 'paint' you can use to 'paint' a screen vs buying a 'tangible' one?

Wryker, I am using a Vutec SS 120.5" and have a Carada Masquerade over it. This makes for a great combo with my Sony VW200 PJ.

Here is my VERY BASIC setup. I know it isn't so great, but I bought it in 2004, when I was a freshman in High School with all the money I saved up.

Sony KV-27HS420 HDTV (I went with 4:3 because there was very little HD content on back then. I strongly regret my decision)
Sony HT-DDW660 5.1 Home Theatre System ($199 at BestBuy, Good enough for my apartment)
Toshiba HD-A2 HD DVD Player
Scientific Atlanta SA-3250HD leased from Time Warner New York City
Mitsubishi U31 VCR from 1980's
Panasonic Turntable/Receiver (Model Unknown) from 1980's
Sony RM-AX4000 Universal Remote

I am curious. What is the point of having one of those Squeezebox things when you have a HTPC hooked up?
Tommy,

Good question, I originally bought the Squeezebox before I built the HTPC. Now that I have both it's easier to still use the Squeezebox for internet radio and my music as I don't need to turn the display on. I use the HTPC to create playlists and favorites then just choose what I want to play through the Squeezebox display.

Since its' wireless I probably eventually move it to a dedicated music setup when we move.

unfortunately, the zektor has no ability to decouple the audio track from the HDMI source and process it, to be able to send it to the analog channels. It is a very configurable switcher, but at the end of the day it is just that: a switch.

for BR sources, you will have to do something like what I will eventually do, which is to get a player that can do lossless decoding itself and pass it via analog outs ( a la XA2 on the HD-DVD side). The PS3, unfortunately, can only pass lossless audio via HDMI, so you will not be able to achieve this if you are using a combo like I have.

I personally cannot part with the Proceed AVP2, eventhough it does not have HDMI inputs, because it's performance is second to none quite honestly. I'm gonna hold off as long as I can

I too am in a similar situation as you, with regards to needing multiple 5.1 analog audio switching. I recently received the Zektor MAS7.1, and prior to connecting the anaolg ins/outs, connected the HDMI ins/outs (for video only) from the Toshiba HD-A35 through the Zektor onto the projector. The projector is receiving no signal at all(re. the A35) . When connecting the A-35 direct to the pj (via 50' Comprehensive DVI-HDMI cable, with DVI-HDMI adapter) everything is as it should be (1080p/60 or 24). Other video sources through the Zektor (SD DVD to DVDo HD+ video scaler, Laser disc to DVDo, and SD SAT to DVDo, all up scaled to 1080p/60, then out via DVI to DVI-HDMI adapter to the Zektor) onto the pj, are able to switch and send at 1080p/60. (The DVDo scaler's highest digital video ins/outs are DVI only. Hence the adapters used). Any thoughts? Thanks
