im in the usa and i used my mastercard to download tekken 5 heres how. first go to your ps3 and click add user. now go to the online and select create new playstation network account.
when you start the sign up process click hong kong as your residence and in the address field enter your address. and for provincestate just pick hong kong and whatever. then when it asks you to add funds select yes and just pick 40 80 160

the tekken game cost 125hkd which equals about 16 dollars. if you pick 160 and it doesnt go throught try 40 cause it wouldnt let me put in 160 so i had to add 80 and 40 2 times.

so in the end youll end up with one hong kong account and one usa account which is good i downloaded ridge racer demo which is only in the asia playstation store

its actually a port from the arcade version which looks incredibly better than the arcade version it looks better than tekken 6 at e3 , so actually it not a ps2 game cause theres no way ps2 is looking like this full 1080p

SWEET! Way to go man

This way I can get Jumping flash for the PSP too

Yes, Tekken 5 rocks. It is by far the best Tekken of the lot. I really hope they add network multiplayer though, it would put the game right up into the stratosphere for me. I am huge Tekken fan

I am super psyched for the 1080p beatdowns we are going to have at my house now!!!

So you put your real American address, plus the Hong Kong province, and it works?

I already have a HK account, any way to edit the address?
Downloading now. WOOT! Nice work! I had to go to account management and add funds (40 twice, then 80). It wouldn't let me add funds via the store (125, 160, 1000 were the only options). A key buy for 16 bones.

And its listed as TEKKEN5 DARK RESURRECTION (for PS3) - 829MB

99% TO GO!!!!!!!

Just use whatever HK address you used to create the account. Go to account management and add funds there. Worked fine for me.

Sweet, I made up a HK address.
I'll try to add funds when I get home.

Guess they don't verify the billing address.

once u guys finish downloading the game...please let us know if this game has online capablity...i dont believe any street fighting style game ever has an online capablity at all on any game consoles!!! if this game has it...it will be the first
post #14 of 48
Still downloading but it looks like no online capability whatsoever.....according to this article anyway:

http://www.gaming-age.com/cgi-bin/pr...ame=tekken5_dr

With Tekken 6 nowhere in sight since E3 05, and the PS3 already out the door, it was obvious that something has been up at Namco regarding the Tekken series. Well, they've finally let the cat out of the bag... and it's a pretty interesting cat.

Apparently the development of a Tekken 6 arcade version is in the works but the PlayStation 3 version is still a ways off. Instead of having everyone wait until then to get their console Tekken fix, they've decided to port the arcade version of Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection to the PS3 (which has also been ported to the PSP). While the game will be an exact port of the modified PS2-powered arcade title, Namco is upping the resolution to widescreen 1080p to support HDTVs. It has been confirmed to not have online play of any kind, but they are tossing in Jinpachi as a playable character as an extra bonus.
But that's not the only twist... Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection PS3 will be made available exclusively for download, and will weigh in at a surprisingly reasonable 800 MB. The release date, price and feature-set are still unknown at this time.

It's not online, but lots of fighters are online.

Dead or Alive: Ultimate (XClassic)
Dead or Alive 4: (X360)
Street Fighter 2: (X360)
Capcom vs SNK 2: (XClassic)
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection: (XClassic)
Guilty Gear: (XClassic)
King of Fighters 2003 (XClassic)
...and more...

There's tons of online fighters for consoles. You just gotta look for em.

I think I'll wait a couple of days to see if it is released on the US store. I would hate to purchase 160hkd buy only need 125. I'm cheap.....

I'm pretty sure you'll see it in the US shops very soon.
Yeah, I have DOA on the 360 and it's online gameplay is pure rubbish. Lag city. Hopefully they add this functionality at some point for Tekken5, but I suspect they won't until Tekken6.
Online for fighting games sucks in general.

Well sure, but the post was saying no fighters were online on any console. Playstation consoles have always been weak online. If you want some PS titles on there, it can be done though.

PS2:
-King of Fighters 2003 (Online in Japan Only)
I think some other SNK ones are online. I'd have to check again.

Or if you want something a tad older but still "online console fighters":

Dreamcast:
-Street Fighter X (Online Japan Only)
-Vampire Savior X (Online Japan Only)

I'd love to see an online Tekken myself. Namco is so slow to move online.
Ended up downloading it using the 40/40/45 method.

Now my Tekken 5: DR arcade machine will be collecting dust instead of my PS3.

Does the HK account need to be the Master Account or can it be the Sub Account (for funds) ?
