Waiting for my HSU VTF 1.

I received my VTF 1 just before Christmas. It arrived five days after ordering (California to South Florida). The HSU staff are helpful and knowledgable. The sub is really remarkable. It fills in the bass on my Ascend speakers for music at about half sub output and can shake the house with Saving Private Ryan. My little media room is 1600 CF. I think this sub is probably the best out there for the money! No, I don't work for the good Doctor.

Just got mine set up last night. Sounds great and was a great addition to the game last night.

I have about 1500 ft^2. I'm still working out placement as my room is a skinny, wide rectangle with stairs coming into the skinny side (old attic space) with all HW floors, wood paneling for walls and ceiling.

I have had my VTF1 for about two weeks and going from a PSW10 WOW (I know I know..lol) WOW. I agree that this is a powerful sub I have mine set to just above the 9 o'clock position and it rocks the chairs and the kitchen cabinets... my room is approx 17X15X9 and opens up to the kitchen which is about the same. The bass is still present in the furthest corner of the kitchen. I dont work for the Doc either but for the money I cannot complain. I was considering the DefTech pro sub 100tl, phase out at Ultimate for $250, but decided to take the 30 day return option with HSU I dont regret it.

Got my VTF-1 also before christmas and this thing is awesome. Good thing i didn't buy the higher model 'cause im not even using 80% of its power yet except when i watch movies with lots of bass. My room is 20x17x8 with an opening that leads to the dining/kitchen room. Guess what i have my volume dial on 2 and thats good enough for me. Its the perfect setting for the bass to blend in with my front speakers, the xls.
I can't tell where the bass is coming from, thats how good this thing is.

Do any of you guys have both of your ports open? I can't seem to tell the difference with one or two ports open.

Try reversing the phase. I couldn't tell a difference with my VTF-1 until I reversed the phase. I now run mine on max output (two ports open). Seems to hit harder and go just as low.

By the way, when I first hooked this little bad boy up, my wife was in the room acting like she could care less. I put in the 'Darla' scene and turned the VTF-1 up to 10 o'clock (usually run it at 9). As soon as Darla started the tapping my wife's head popped up. When it was over she looked at me with a big grin and said "do it again!"
The second time through the scene had my three year-old running out of her room with a horrified look on her face and my one year-old screeming from her crib. I am no longer allowed to use my HSU past 9:00 pm anymore.http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/newre...ply&p=9415061#
