I thought about that, but who knows when that will be if it took this long to get to dvd. It is also only ~$10 from amazon.

Was this the movie where a comet turned everyone into zombie's except for a few teens and adults who are trapped inside a shopping mall?

Yes.

Seriously, it's not a great film but it's fun. It's been years since I've seen it...

Probably not, but MAN when it came out in 198x it was something completely different than anything I had ever seen. We were stuck in the whole "Valley Girl" fad, and this came along and was cynical, a little camp (but not over the top), satirical, funny, it had a little horror & Sci-fi, and it had Mary Woronov. It was cutting edge humor at the time.

It was almost like "Buffy" nearly a decade before "Buffy" had even been invented.

Somehow I missed this one when it came out. I watched it the other night and see how the "impact" of the first viewing would have been better 20 years ago.

It was shown mainly on Showtime, back in the days when they used to show all those cheesy, but fun, skin/beach bunny flicks - and the boobs were all real . Whenever I see all these ridiculously enhanced woman now, I often think back to those days and wonder why in the world they can't still find chicks that overall hot without having those awfully obvious, unnatural-looking "balloons" . I'd still like to know who made the decision somewhere along the line that guys actually "prefer" that. It's not even truly sexy and has actually taken on a "camp" sort of image, a la Pam Anderson and those unproportionately humongous globes on that little, anorexic, skinny- assed body .

I've actually got quite a few of those old movies stashed away on VHS (including "Comet", which is so worn out, the top of the picture is all distorted).

Hey - you gotta remember that even though I was in my later twenties then, I was still basically pretty young !

Rewatched about half of it last night, until my annoying AC/Heating unit drowned out the audio :| Pretty much as I remember it, which is pretty good for what it is. And for the record, nothing is sexier than the look on a woman's face while concentrating on getting a high score on an old school arcade machine.

You got that right.

BTW, the DVD can be had at a great price from BB and CC.

Although I'd say this was more like a '80s cross of Omega Man and Dawn of the Dead, and now that I've seen it again recently it's actually quite fun little movie.

I didn't even remember that Robert Beltran who plays the male lead in this movie was Chakotay in Star Trek: Voyager.

I know that Catherine Mary Stewart is the obvious "hottie" in the film, but I always had a major crush on Kelly Maroney, myself. Liked her in "Killbots", too.

I always kind of pictured them as a team... no, not like that!

OK, exactly like that.

That's just sick, Fred.... ...OK, maybe not...
