Martin Logan Speakers, Classe or McIntosh Electronics

I'm soon to be a new owner of a Martin Logan Home Theater System built around Sumits for front L&R with Stage center channel, a pair of Script i's for rear surrounds, and most likely a Depth i sub. My local dealer offers both Classe and McIntosh electronics. Need opinions/experience with either or both used to power Martin Logan speakers. I've listen to both sets of gear but was only able to hear my new system to be with McIntosh. The electronics I'm looking at are as follows:

McIntosh MX135 with MC207
Classe SSP600 with CA5200

Any advice/help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Beautiful equipment choices Don.

Can't help you with the best choice for ML's but have you visited the ML Owner site?

FFFFFF Mcintosh.. Sure the old tube amps are classics but these guys think their stuff is just gold. Fact is it's just OLD. Like harley Davidson. Same old looking product over and over again for insanity prices.

I've never heard the summits, but I have classe gear with my b&w's. I find it simply amazing. I prefer it to mcintosh any day.

Hi

i bought both - MX 119 / MC 207 and SSP600/CA5200/CDP300
I own 802D / HTM2D / ASW 850 / 4x 805S

MC 207 vs. CA 5200
It only took abou 5 Minutes to find out that the Mc didn´t have any chance in any way - the 207 sounded boring, small, little bass
The CA 5200 is in every moment so clear ahead - better sounding, wider, precise and a little bit tube amp sounding -

MX 119 / SSP 600
after comparing the power amps i didnt spent so much time with the 119. Because i wanted a SET. Just can tell that the SSP 600 with its touch screen just looks much better and is ease to use. Sounds great with Stereo and Movies!!!

I would buy Classe again - even the price esp. here in Germany is top of the line - i.e. Classe is almost twice the price in europe then it is in the US.


CDP 300 7.800
SSP 600 8.350
CA 5200 9.950 x 1.3 = USD

So - Classe for me looks just nicer and more modern.

Quick answer: Classe. It will also hold up to whatever speakers you may change to.

donlduck do not go with Mcintosh because the MX135 is nothing more then a yamaha receiver and the MC207 does not have the autoformer found in the other better Mcintosh amps.

hello
could you tell me the different between the ssp 300 and the ssp 600?
All I know is that the ssp 600 got this balance thing that ssp 300 does not
but I heard that the balance slot is only for people who have their power amp far away. And the ssp 300 are for people who have their power amp right next to each other..

please educate me
