And a few movies (no games, they were out) and love the PQ. I have HD DVD as well and loving me some HD content from both formats in my theater room.

They were on Amazon today, but the sold out pretty quickly. I would periodically go to stores, I think I have seen 4 stores in stock with them this week, of course they only lasted a few mintues.

All you need now for your PS3 is the bluetooth remote which can be picked up at Gamestop. It retails for $24.95 and works perfectly.

I was at a Target store last night and they had 2 of the 60Gig models. I called home to see how much my wife loved me and she said not that much. So I went home empty handed. I was surprised to see 2 of those in the store that late at night too.
They're available all over the place now. Doesn't take too much work to find one. They're worth the price just for BD playback, if you're into hd content on disc. I enjoy mine very much.

They are not available "all over the place" now. Stop spreading misinformation and getting peoples hopes up. I went to 4 places yesterday in so cal (Frys, Best Buy, EB Games and a Gamestop) and they were ALL out of stock other then frys which has a 900 dollar bundle which i wont touch. They were completely out of the 20 gigs as well. So to say they are easily found is FALSE, maybe in some town that resembles the dark ages in the midwest there is 1-2 on the shelf, but at most places, they are still impossibly hard to find. Demand is way too high.

Exactly, if they were available all over, Best Buy wouldn't be plastering this week's ad telling you to get there an hour before opening to snag a ticket to get one.

Well, they may not be "all over the place" but they are much more available than they were few weeks ago. I live in the "dark ages midwest" but it is a town of 120K or so. I went into Best Buy at 12:30pm yesterday and they still had 15 or so left so I picked one up. My local Target also had a couple. A friend of mine who also lives in "the dark ages" but in the next state over got one at Best Buy today. So they are out there and you don't have to buy a bundle.

Yeah, the blue tooth stuff ticked me off. My Harmony 880 won't work with the PS3..not happy. But, the picture is great

congrats on the ps3 pick up. its an awsome player
post #22 of 32
obviously it depends where you are...I went to 4 stores in the DFW area yesterday (BB, Wal Mart, Target and Fry's) and all 4 had them just sitting there on the shelf. BB gave out tickets for theres and only 3 people showed up to get tickets! (30 available in all)Went back to 2 of the stores later last night(BB and Wal mart) and they were still available. As for the poster that said the games are great....The only game worth anything is Resistance. This has to be the worst launch ever as far as games.

Yea they would it just means more money for them if people come in and buy things. Especially if a few do not end up with one they may end up buying something else.

Are you kidding me about the Harmony 880 not being compatible?? That's AWFUL !! Anyone else have that problem? That would be a deal-breaker for me. I was hoping to get a PS3( for DVD's only since I'm not a gamer) , to go along with my Tosh HD-DVD and be able to enjoy all HD movies from the comfort of my couch. If the Harmony can't control it, I'll have to look elsewhere for a BR player--probably wait for the price of the BR stand-alones to come down to the Tosh A1 level. ($500. ish).

I bought mine while visiting my Parents in Phoenix and they had 25 PS3 and they were only three people in line, including me! So I picked one up. Went back later that night and they still had about 18-19 in stock.

I would personally ask a salesperson if they have them in stock because many places still do not stock them on the floor but have them in the back. I just happend to ask a Gamestop person and he said yea we have them in the back...

I picked one up last week and it's a must have if you plan on watching alot of Blu-ray movies. Also download the GT HD Concept Demo to get a taste of truly impressive next gen gaming graphics.

I would have just strolled in with the PS3 under my arm, given her a swat on the butt and told her to fetch me a beer while I set it up.

That thought crossed my mind when I first saw it. Truth be told I'd still like to have sex then play games so that is the main reason why I didn't buy it that night.

Yes, I do have this problem. It sucked at first having to go back to using another remote after having the 880 for over a year and only needing to use one. Im curious to see what logitech will do for the next round of universals or if this one can be used in some way. I shelled out the 24 dollars for the bluetooth remote, I have to use the harmony's backlit features so I an see which buttons I need to push. I have had my PS3 since last Thursday, I've played a few demos, but I've already bought 7 movies, and renewed my blockbuster account so that I could rent more. It was sort of a let down to watch movies in SD-DVD, now I can watch them in 1080i, with 5.1 PCM.
