First, I want to say that I am a newbie and would appreciate any help.
Could someone or the original poster of the above tell me what this means exactly?
I have a PS3 hooked up to a Samsung HL-R6768W (1080P) TV set. I was trying to get 1080P resolution on my set, but was getting a message on my TV that it was not supported. I was using a HDMI connection. I have some questions.
1. Does the quality of the cables matter? I purchased an inexpensive HDMI cable b/c I was told that it doesn't really matter since it is a digital signal. Should I get some "premium" cables?
2. Do I need some sort of update for my TV since I purchased it when it first came out, > 1 year ago? And if so how do I go about doing this?
3. Will having a component cable connection make a difference? If so what cables do you recommend?
I am desperate to watch some Blu-Ray discs in 1080P. Please help a newbie out. Thanks in advance....
