Paradigm Mini Monitor or Titan Monitor

Can anyone please comment on which is a better match between the Paradigm Mini Monitor v.5 and the Paradigm Titan Monitor v.5? My proposed 5.1 upgrade includes the following:

(2) Front - Paradigm Monitor 7 v.5
(1) Center - Paradigm CC-290 v.5
(2) Surrounds - Either the Paradigm Mini Monitor v.5 or Titan Monitor v.5

All will be powered by a Harmon/Kardon AVR 245

I would go with the Mini Monitors if given those two choices. Actually, the best match would be the Atom Monitors though. The Monitor 7's have 5 1/2" drivers, and the Atom Monitors have a 5 1/2" driver. The Mini's are 6 1/2" and the Titans are 7".

What are the Titan Monitors? Are you referring to the Paradigm Titan in the performance series?

If so, the monitor series is definitely better than the performance series. Both great speakers at their priceranges, but definitely the mini-monitors are a nice step up. However, for surround use, unlikely to notice this difference at all unless you do a lot of multichannel music listening, so titans or atoms are appropriate for basic HT use.

Paradigm has eliminated the Performance series with the v5 series. The Titan is now considered to be above the Mini Monitor in performance, well at least the increased price would warrant the change.

I would try to match the woofers as close as possible, so I would go with the Atoms in the rear to match the driver size of the Monitor 7s.

Then I'm behind the times, sorry if I was misleading. I was not aware of these changes.

Not a problem, you are usually full of very good info. We'll let this one slide.

In fact, I just saw the press releases, they totally reorganized their performance/monitor lines into a single line. Pretty interesting. A good move in my opinion, I just wasn't aware of it so I got confused. Now it goes atom, mini-monitor, titan. That's pretty interesting. I'll have to take a listen to these at some point. It's kind of a shame they don't have the cheaper atoms below $200 anymore though.

Anyway, now the above post makes sense, and my post of course is woefully outdated.

If you listen to movies but no 5.1 music, it won't matter, get the cheaper one.

Have you demoed ADP's? I compared them to Atoms and prefer the diffuse soundfield. Also, the 7's sound amazing paired with a good sub like the PW-2200. The mids are cleaner and more spacious when crossing over at 90Hz. Nice setup.

If you're going to have a good sub, then what is the point of the floorstanders? If he's going to have a sub, then I would move up to the Studio 20, and get the sub.

A great bookshelf combined with a good sub will outclass a budget floorstander most of the time.

Thank you to all those who have given there opinions. This Paradigm setup will be used for 100% Home Theater. I plan on getting either the HSU STF-2 or the SVS PB10-NSD. Honestly, I haven't put much thought into using bookshelves versus floorstanders.

I have the Monitor 3 v.4, no longer in the Monitor v.5 lineup. They replaced my Titans v.4 and were a major sound upgrade in my listening environment. Specifically the highs were more detailed and the mid range was wider and more defined.
Were it me I would use the Mini v.5 if the space allows. Either would be a good match.

I am also using a cc170 center and will be replacing it with the new cc290 in the next 2 weeks. It will be a much better match for the 3's. I am also going to be replacing the Atoms, surrounds, with the in ceiling CS60R's.
