I was using the 1080p 60A2000 but opted to return it and continue to play on my older 720p 50A20. The 60" was definitely a nicer set all around but was hard to justify paying the money for something really not needed. Instead I up graded to some Energy RC-30's (freaking sound incredible)!
I'll also be upgrading my receiver soon as well (have a "rental") right now.

I definitely can in blu-ray movies. They still look fantastic on 720p sets but they definitely look better on a 1080p set.
For games, I could tell on GT HD and RR7, but not overly significant. They both look great at 720p as well.
edit: I must say I've played Resistance and Motorstom on SD sets as well, still very fun and looks good.
