Sorta, still havent heard from him latley and im stuck again in the programming of this stuff
i guess the Q1 is also my set back because its not ment to do what a normal cinemar client should do. Need to start searching for some 12' or 14' inch touch screens for around the house like crestron offers..so far i got about 80% away so its going..

hey mark, if u get a chance can u give me a shout hopefully you can answer a couple of questions that i havent heard back from cinemar on..

Do you have plans for the stage you built? I really like the design!

Sensational job so far, looking forward to some pics of the finished theater.

I am still planning my much more modest HT but am looking at using a similar color scheme. What color GoM is the red?

What do you think of your star ceiling with the Fidelio Velvet panels?

Sorry Guys been really busy.. haven't had chance to upload any pictures i will try this week and get you some finished pics..

the color of the red is a ANCHORAGE RED from GOM..

The star panels with the Fidelio are the best way you can go.. 100% true black and you can
see the stars as if it was the real sky.. (will post some "night" style pics also on the update)
Id be interested in how you constructed the star ceiling. Im getting close to doing it in my own theater. Can you see the seams between the panels? How were the panels attached to the ceiling?
Come on already Boca We want some pictures of the finished theater
post #101 of 117
So, Boca, are you also too busy to actually use the theater?
Boca, I am not too familiar with Cinimar and what you are trying to get it to do. However, I do love the Q1 touch to that. Care to explain to me what you are trying to make it to do? How well is it working on that Q1 for you or is there still a lot of bumps that needs to be worked out?

Also, I noticed your monster power center is framed on a rack shelf, don't they come with rack ears to be mounted straight onto the rack?

bump...

Never got some updated pics.

Well Guys been a while since I've had time to get back on here... but its the moment you have all been waiting for PHOTOS!!!.. there a little bright, but.. hey u wanted photos.. u got them. The room is so bright its showing the lines in the ceiling, which is very hard to see in normal eye.. since the fidelio is so black.. will take some new shots th is week when my Xti arrives (hopefully)

I have been working on getting my cinemar all set up and in every room, which is not a pretty site for the racks right now, i will get a picture of them posted also soon. I have found some new panels that i will be using in each room, but still no solution of how to get the movies from the network raid, in every room (if anyone has ideas or has it up and running please chime in.. ).

Now im back on AVS and will be a active member again, and am doing some more work on the theater and other parts of the house, so prepare for more updates....

Wow, finally! Looks very good and was worth the wait (since most of us forgot what we were waiting for anyway!).

so how much do you make a year exactly? :P

seriously though - how do some people afford these things on an average salary of like 70,000+? Home equity loans?

Ooh, careful Barry, that's a question (even if it is said in jest) that many people on here will hate you for bringing up!

Anyway, what I have seen from people really amazes me and a lot of it depends on how much they do on their own or have free help doing. I know there are some people on this forum who can afford to have somebody else do all the work, there are also people who can afford to, but still do it on their own and of course the people who can't afford to have anyone else do it, so they do it on their own because they have to.

::retracts question:: sorry!

Well I have always been more of a do it yourselfer, i find there is a lot more satisfaction in doing it yourself. Like boca/sandmans threads - they probably give so many people inspiration, and it is just awesome of them to put the same dedication into creating these threads of their builds as they do into building their theaters.

I am thinking about doing one as soon as our house is finished! We have a completely unfinished basement (we got the house as barebones as possible so that we can do the work!) - plus it was an extra 27K to have them do the basement!

Ill probably actually be better off starting my own thread for this

BocaPimp, You have any pics of the construction of the star ceiling panels? (Or links to the product, if commercial?)

In my application, I won't have access to climb above the finished ceiling, but I really would like to do one, so this method might work.

Awesome build, BTW. Simply awesome...

Well your going to need some access at least for wiring up the light box (or boxs in my case).. if you can do that or some how route it out then your good.

basically there 6 feet x 4 feet foam boards (rigid foam) from home depot, about 1 inch thick, covered in a paste type tile glue ( i can get the name if u need it later on) , and then wrapped tightly in Black Fidelio velvet (http://www.bymichelle.com/fidelio.html), then i used fibers from (http://www.fiberopticproducts.com/Ceiling.htm) and punched them through the foam and then clipped with a nail clipper (sorry i would have pics, but i did them over a weekend when i didnt have my camera)
