need help with cables for DVD player

I'm planning on purchasing a Panny S52S DVD player:
Panny S52s

The on-floor tech recommends I get this Monster Cable but I think $45 for a digital coaxial cable is kinda' steep.

Sooo... I found this at monoprice:
Digital Coaxial Audio from monoprice
The only thing that irks me is that it's labeled as a "subwoofer" cable.

Are they the same thing???

I'll be hooking up the panny to an Onkyo HTR540 receiver (I think that's the one - it's the receiver that comes with the Onkyo 790 HTIB solution). THe manual says I will need to connect via optical or coaxial for true Dolby Digital Surround Sound - this is my first venture to any of this stuff, and I'm super confused! Please let me know if the above monoprice cable is indeed the coaxial cable I need to pump full digital audio from the panny dvd player to my receiver - thanks!

Any words on whether I Should get optical over coaxial for this setup?

There is a theory where they can be different, but until someone really explains it too me, I couldn't help you out, because I don't know myself how they could be different. They should both pass a digital signal with identical 0's and 1's.

Monster cables are such total rip offs.

You won't be able to notice a difference I don't think. So it's a point of preference. Receivers now seem to be more abundant in the number of optical inputs. And if you run either, you should make sure that that input is assigned to the dvd input.

And don't worry about the "subwoofer cable" thing. It's all about standards when it comes to that stuff. It states its a 75 ohm cable and has an rca connector. So therefore, it can be hooked up to a sub. That's it.
