Help:connecting subwoofer and power-amp to preamp

I am trying to connect a power amp and an external subwoofer crossover to my pre-amp. Unfortunately I only have one left/right pre-out connection on my preamp. Can I use two y-cables to go from the left/right preamp pre-out's into the suibwoofer and into the power-amp. Thanks!!

Does your sub have L and R inputs? If so, then yes you can use a total of two y-cables to split the L and R channels (independently) to feed both the amp and the sub.

You cannot use a y-cable to combine the L and R outs from the pre to a single input on the sub. It doesn't sound like you are trying to do this, but I just want this point to be clear.

Radio Shack should suffice... also would work for the time being if you would like to find a better quality y cable.. Bluejeanscable comes to mind.... good luck
