Mine looks a bit different than yours. I don't know if your camera is doing it or your TV settings are too high but it looks like you are blowing the roof out of the whites and losing detail because of it..

Yup, it's my POS camera,

as I mentioned before,
I have excellent picture detail in person everything you're showing and more..
I just cant get my camera to capture it.

My eyes can easily see the detail at "Buddys" feet and ground texture in addition to every line on his nose at the same time....for some reason my camera wont though

It's just $100 automatic 4.1 mp Fuji
no abilty to adjust iso setttings, no filters or options, just point and click

However, it hasnt been as much of a problem in other movies I've shot
(if you've seen any of the pics in my sig link you'll see its not my display)

Yeah, those are really throwing a bad image of your setup .

P.S. Do you like diet coke?
They're set up that way due to the rooms build. I couldn't put them any farther in the corners.

And yes, the wifey and friends love the diet coke

Does anyone know why some of my pictures have weird discoloured lines going through them? The TV definitly doesn't show that in real life......I'd really like to fix that problem, whether its a camera setting or whatever......I've seen this anomally on other peoples pictures before too.

The Descent (has anyone even posted screenshots of this yet?) I love this movie!

Not too shabby on the Descent. First shots I have seen. Looks good.

It's much better in real life too. Definitly a tier 1 title.

maverick0716,
Those colored lines are called moire patterns. It's a common problem when taking pictures of tv's. check out this link .

Thanks for the link .......so basically it says I get them because my camera is not set up perfectly perpendicular to the TV screen......I'll just try and get it straighter I guess, lol.

Here are 3 images I put together comparing 5th element Blu-ray-vs-DVD. I set my camera on a tripod 5 feet away from my TV. Each picture is cropped in quite a bit to show better detail (or lack there of...)

nice screen shots. I have the 50" and using the ps3 as a BD player as well, but I just got it so I am still trying to adjust the picture settings. What settings are you using? Do you use the same settings for games as a BD movie?
