Come on. Most of those have no date and is just a listing. Looks just like amazon.com place holders to me. Those that DO have a date are few and far between and, frankly, evoke little interest from me.

some-one posted this same type list mid last year, it had upcoming titles listed the same way, we have those titles now , I think this is pretty much whats coming soon or what we can lookout for

someone kick New Line in the rear and get them going, and a Dirty Harry set, I can die happy

Braveheart!
Blade Runner!
Goonies!
Star Trek Collection (that could cost a bundle!)
I am really hoping Warner will use The Departed as a reason to release The Aviator on the same day.

Braveheart, sweet.

OK but will we have a enough room for a TrueHD audio track or will we be shortchanged with a DD+ track?

Even a DTS-Master track or HD track would be better.

Band of Brothers and Matrix will be nice...

That list looks like it could do with an update, Mission Impossible is out already!

Those could be individual releases of MI:1 and MI:2. Unless I'm mistaken, those are not available outside of the box set at this time. Paramount usually does this with their box sets. Only available a set first, then individual releases later (remember The Godfather series on DVD). The discs will be the same as the ones in the set.

*yawn*

That January release list is anemic, and the only title that even remotely interests me is "The Sting". There's a grand total of 4 titles listed for February release, including the aptly titled "Failure to Lauch". IMO HD-DVD had better get on the ball and start ramping up their schedule. The last months of 2006 were pretty good, but '07 is looking pitiful so far. I'm reminded of SACD here...

Sheesh, could we get more concerts by has-beens and never-weres? Chicago, Earth Wind & Fire, Heart, Alice Cooper, Barry Manilow ... for the love of God TOTO!!??

Even this upcoming Nine Inch Nails concert will show a band 15 years past its prime.

I guess it's just a matter of marketing towards old geezers who still hung up on what they listened to in high school ... I don't know. There are plenty of great old concert films I'd love to see on HD DVD and plenty more that need to be made now, shot in HD - but the offerings so far have been dismal.

Toto??

Or, maybe old geezers who can afford and actually do pay for products instead of bands whose fans watch the torrent release date much closer than the media release date.

(chuckle) yup. much truth in that.

Glad we are happy about seeing concerts rather than big name movie releases.

I'm hoping there are announcements made at CES, but I won't be holding my breath.

I watched "Dune" a couple of days ago (great HD transfer of questionable elements) and had totally forgotten that Toto "composed and performed" the soundtrack! The music is *so* dated, but the film held up better than I expected it to, even with Sting running around in a winged jockstrap chewing the scenery with his two or three lines ("I *WILL* kill him!!!"). It's never been a fav of mine.

Anyway, I have to completely agree with you. Toto?!?!?

Saw I and Saw II is supposed to come in March too on HD DVD in Spain
Can't wait for those + Lucky # Slevin and T2 !!
Well January and febuary will still be okay for me .

The mummy returns , Pulse , Clerks 2 , Hollywoodland , Babel and NIN . Not to bad and my wallet can take a rest from the holiday season .

I might just rent Babel though.
My opinion is this.

They can't treat this like a video game console. Don't wait until the holiday to release the bread and butter. The more content, the better. When games are $60 and your core audience is the 18 - 35 bracket it makes sense. But you can get 3 movies for that $60 and the current core audience is 25 - 55. Crank out some movies or HD DVD will be a conversation that starts something like "Hey! Do you remember Divx?".
