Infocus 7200 And Hd-a2 Question

I have been sitting on the fence ever since the release of the HD players. My concern is the DVI/HDMI handshake problems.

I have the IF7200 (firmware 3.7) and have been considering the HD-A2. Would anybody know if these 2 components are compatible?

It's an iffy proposition. My 7200 worked with the HD-1A for two weekends then the DVI input died. 7200 HDCP handshake problem which requires replacing the controller board. Since my unit has been at Infocus for repair since 9-18-06, it seems they don't have any boards in stock. Very disappointing customer service from Infocus.

My 7200 never worked with the HD-XA1 HD-DVD player I have. I read several posts here of issues with this setup. I now use an Infocus 7210 and it took right off...yes, it's the way HDCP is implemented. An "upgrade" to the 7200 is not guaranteed to work.

Thanks for the replies. By what you are saying, its an iffy thing. What would be the best thing to do?
Will the HD-A2 give me 720p or 1080i over the component connection, or would a Blu-Ray work with the HDMI to DVI connection?

Worked ok with component on HD-DVDs at 720 or 1080i, but no upscaling possible with standard DVDs via component.

Rudymay,
Was that the HD-A2 or the HD-1A ? How was the quality of the picture compared to an upconverting Dvd player?

I have the Panasonic DVD-S97 upconverting player, connected with a monster HDMI to DVI adapter going to my IF7200 and have not had any problems with this configuration. I am upconverting SD Dvd's to 1080i and it does a good job. If this connection works with the Panny, will it work with the HD-A2?
