Hardwood floors

Ok, this is not for HT but where else can I go to find great advise from such a helpful community...but it kind of is related to HT...read on.

My wife has finally agreed to go with a projector and big screen in our basement...but she wants hardwood floors installed in the upper level first.

So, while our budget is limited we are looking at installing (ourselves) the hardwood floors made by Bruce. The type is Hardwood, strip style, color=gunstock or butterscotch. This is for our family room, kitchen, living room, dining room.

The cost of this is around $4 sq/ft which seems to work out with our budget.

So, I turn to you for advise.

Is there anything I should know about Bruce? Is there another Brand I should consider?
I am considering Menards right now due to its 10% off (even sale items) deal, but if I can realize more savings elsewhere (please do tell where I could go).

I dont want to short cut this, but any savings here, goes into the Projector/screen/other equipment

Oh...I live in NW Indiana if that matters.

You would be better off by buying Bruce Flooring through Home Depot as they have a model of wood floor that doesn't require either glue nor nails. It is on sale this week.

I really think I want to go with real hardwood floors and not laminate.
