Here are my personal first thoughts of the set (pasted from original thread),
I'm pretty impressed. I'll just list some random thoughts as I think of them below:
It accepts a perfect 1:1 pixel mapped signal from my PC at 1920x1080@60hz no problems using HDMI. 47" of 1920x1080 destkop looks amazing!
I haven't had a chance to compare the component input yet. The physical set looks exactly like their older models. Speakers are removable I believe, although I haven't removed them yet.
Haven't seen any dead pixels yet. It appears to me that the viewing angle is pretty good too.
I had it side by side with my Sceptre 37" and HD looked better. SD looked comparable to my Sceptre.
There are a decent amount of settings to play with and most of them are input dependent!! There are discrete buttons on the remote for each input source!
Speakers are not so great, but just about as good as any other TV out there. I wasn't expecting anything wonderful anyways.
Both HDMI inputs accept a perfect 1080P signal.
I haven't tried VGA from a PC.
Digital Tuner has good sensitivity, picked up all my channels with bunny ears.
I'll post more as I learn more. Feel free to ask questions, I'll be checking the boards on and off today.
So far...I'm very happy with my purchase. I wasn't able to compare side-to-side with a Sony or Sharp, but I think the picture quality is great. I'm sure that the Sony or Sharp's might have a little better blacks/colors. But for the 1100 bucks I just saved over the Sony I am VERY happy with my Vizio!
