component cable coupler and projector

I will need to use a coupler to connect 2 cables, to make the xbox 360 cables reach my projector, which is ceiling mounted.

using a coupler such as this...

Anyone noticed any problems with using a coupler? or should i run the cables through my receiver and than to the projector,

problem with using the receiver is that it will cost my an extra 20bucks in cables, plus it would be an overall longer cable run

I went with the one that is very similar from monoprice, but isnt color coded like the one you show. The one you show was on backorder at the time. I needed to run a 40ft component cable from my 360 to my ceiling mounted IN72 projector, so I used this coupling. The image quality is FLAWLESS and I was very pleased.

Run thru the reciever. I get no picture degradation and the ease of switching inputs (audio and video) make it a must for me.

I had to do the same thing. We had company last night and my wife wanted me upstairs, in case the children (his and mine) got outa control. So, I went out and bought some single units ($3.00 a piece) and hooked it up. It works just fine.

I have run component, s-video and vga to the projector. I am awaiting a HDMI cable. But, the XBOX 360 is usually in my office. So, I was able to pull the cables from the DVD player and with the adapters, use the 360. It worked pretty well.

Couplers work and don't let them fool ya, they are just mangy rca composite couplers to. It's like there are Component Cables and Composite cables in the retail world. They are wired the same from anything I ever tested. Sure quality can vary from wire used. Your paying for the pretty colors.
