The movie was hilarious, and fun to watch im just not sure if it really needs to be owned on HD DVD.

I've been holding off the SD waiting for this...not perfect (first 20 minutes BLOW) but once it gets going, a very funny movie.

I saw the SD and not worth buying the HD. Good rental when it comes out.

I'd give the title Das Boot to the rental category.

My local "_ _ _ _ _ _ _" ( Fill in the Blanks! ) has Beerfest and The Wicker Man out early for both formats. Just letting people know the shipments are out there.

Picke dup mine on Monday at CC. They had Beerfest and Wickerman. Funny movie, but the transfer was kind of soft. Not such a big step up from the SD really.

You're giving it "The Boat".

Just watched Beerfest last night. The picture seemed inconsistent in the transfer, or it may have just been inconsistent in the source. At times it was fairly sharp, clear, and hi-def looking, and other times grainy and upconverted-looking. But I guess we are not supposed to notice, since you really should be downing a few beers while watching for best enjoyment. Over all the movie was not bad. With the small numbers of hi-def comedies, this is worthwhile to add to your collection, though certainly not as good as 40 year old virgin.
