Is the Mits HD1000 a substantial upgrade over a Sanyo Z3?

I was planning on waiting until 1080p fell into the sub 2k range before I upgraded. However the price on the HD1000 has me thinking about pulling the trigger.

Are there any 720p LCD owners (Sanyo and Panny) who have made the change to the HD1000?

Give me some pros and cons.

I'd like to hear opinions on this too, thanks.

I just did this today (Z2) to HD1000. See it here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=779446

Yes it was substanial from the Z2, could only be happier if it had lens shift for $1000.

I went from a Z3 to HC3000 it has better blacks mabe a little sharper otherwise not really worth the work to change because of the lack of offset

I'm in the same valley, need to make a decision for the upgrade. Haven't been to these forums in a while been using the 4805 for over a year with my D1 and been happy. But I want to upgrade now, and looking at the ae900 and now I see this hd1000. What have you all done and I will look and do some research?

I am looking new or used
