What games did you buy/should have bought?

I've just gotten my hands on a PS3 as until now they've been hard to find. Now I need to get me some games...

I'm starting to think that choosing a game(s) is harder than finding a unit.

I picked up Resistance already. My question is this: What games are purchase worthy IF you already own an Xbox 360?

It seems to boil down between Genji, Ridge Racer 7, Untold Legends.

The more I think about it, the less I seem to want this PS3 right now. I worked hard to get it...so I want it to be worth it. What would you all suggest?

I have Full Auto 2 and have not noticed any frame rate issues, unlike the 360. But there may be varying opinions on that, but for me the frame rate seems fine.

Its not like you didn't know what games were available before you bought it.

I have Resistance and that's it. I like playing the demos on there as well. I don't mind waiting for games later this year...I've got 3 or 4 on the 360 that I need to complete.

When I got my 360 back in Feb I didn't play anything but demos for the first month of owning it and I just got a PS3 on New Years and I plan to do the same thing (although I may pick up resistance soon). I play the Wii most of the time anyway so when the really good PS3 games come out I will be ready. It is not like the console is going to drop price anytime soon so I won't be saving any money by picking it up in a few months.

Things will change in under 2 months when both Motorstorm and Virtual Fighter 5 comes out. Yes, VF5 will be available for the xbox360, but not untill august or later.

I only got Resistance. Been playing that and the demos from the Store on the PS3. I'm not going to buy a PS3 game just for the sake of playing a PS3 game. Between Resistance and Rainbow 6, COD3 and Splinter Cell DA for the 360, I have plenty to keep me busy until something else good comes out.

I didn't mean to sound negative about the PS3 or bash it in any way. I think that some of you may understand how I feel. After spending 600 + tax on this huge console I feel that I need some validation for my purchase. I'd assume that some of you feel the same.

Perhaps the best thing to do is just wait it out. I'll just enjoy Resistance and the mountain of games that have been slowly been piling up on my 360 that I have yet to touch. Perhaps I'll just shell out some money on a couple Blu-Rays and pick up Bully and Okami, two games that I sadly missed.

Console launches are always hard, but this one seems to be really bare. March can't come fast enough.

You need Validation for a Voluntary purchase? If you dont want it, why buy it? You buy it for the sake of whining about buying a 600 dollar console? Which by the way, your 360 had the same "problem" at launch (a slim game library).

On a side note, Im gonna be pickin up NHL2k7 later today and hit up the Ice for some Penguin action!

It's not an different than the 360 launch imo. I was pretty bored last year since the only game I had at the time was GRAW.

Resistance and Marvel Ultimate Alliance is keeping me busy atm.

I see that there are some very defensive people here. My original thread was NOT to start a xbox vs PS3 war. I clearly own both systems, and am a supporter of GAMES. (Hence my original question, what GAMES did you/should you buy?)

If anyone has any input on the original question, please feel free to post. If you want to chime in that the 360 sucks...please go elsewhere. My need to feel that the PS3 is worth the money is only natural. This thing cost me 650 dollars! I want to enjoy it as much as I do my other consoles.

Need for Speed Carbon, Full Auto 2, Project 8 for my son (will be taking back since he has it for PS2, and Fight Night Round 3. My biggest dissapointment is Maden, I just play the ps2 version on my PS3 I am definitly getting more enjoyment out of watching my movies

I have only rented games so far (along with playing the demos) and I probably will not be buying anything for it until March . I considered importing Motorstorm but after thinking about it I decided to wait for the US version due to the addition of online play (and the game possibly being more polished) . R:FoM and Motorstorm are the only retail games worthy of a $60 purchase IMO . Tekken 5 DR is also a great downloadable option for under $20 .

If RB6:Vegas looks and plays as good as the 360 release then it will be a MUST OWN (who knows , maybe it will end up better due to the added production time) .

I boght R:FoM and Tekken so far. The next game will be Motorstorm. After that I will decide to wait for Virtua Fighter 360 or not.

If you read between the subtle shots at you, I think what you will find is that most agree that you will not "enjoy it as much as I do my other consoles" until the exclusives you bought it for are released.

I would expect that as an owner of multiple platforms, you know which titles you want and when they are going to be released.

If you bought without knowing that information, I can tell you that most people who own other platforms think the PS3 is pretty bare other than RFOM.

As an owner of only one next gen platform (just sold an original Xbox), I like RFOM, Fight Night 3, and Madden 2007. They are all great to me but other than RFOM they are also available for the 360.

I actually feel bad for you hardcore gamers, I would be pissed if I had to own each device to get all the games I wanted to play. At least on the HD video side, I can always get the HD DVD exclusives in SD format if they are unavailable in Blu Ray.

So far I have Resistance, Railfan, Armored Core 4 and Motorstorm -- for downloadable games I bought Tekken and Blast factor (eagerly awaiting flOw and Gripshift.. possibly calling all cars). But so far there havent been a lot of must-have titles available for purchase in the US

As a 360 owner Resistance is the only thing I'm really playing on it. I own Genji since it was included in the Costco bundle I bought (played the demo but haven't opened it) and will probably keep Resistance if Insomniac fixes the stat servers soon (I got it from Gamefly).
Just Resistance and BlastFactor for me. Will be getting Fl0w soon (tomorrow?). BlockBuster has Full Auto 2 for rent now and Oblivion scheduled so I'll probably rent those.
So far I have Madden and Mavel Ultimate Alliance.

The next game I will be getting will be Oblivion on 2/26 (wasn't this originally a launch game and then due out 1/31 -- it seems to be pushed back all the time).

There are many interesting games coming in March and April (if they don't get delayed). I will be getting NCAA 2K7 as soon as that one comes out (was originally slated for 1/15 but now is scheduled for 3/1). I am also interested to see how the reviews end up for Lair (3/1), I will get one of the baseball games depending on which is better MLB 2K7 (3/5) or MLB the Show (4/5). Assasin's Creed (4/2) and Indiana Jones /3/31) look promising.

Of course if past history is any indication, many of these will be delayed.

Resistance, Fight Night, Tiger Woods, Madden, Project 8, RR7, Full Auto 2, NFS Carbon.

We've (me and my 2 teenage boyz) only been playing them since Christmas but so far it's all good.

Don't have a 360 so this is our first real shot at HD games.

The only game I own for the PS3 is R:FOM. Genji looks great. But the camera is pretty much the only thing that turned me off from buying it. I may rent it in the future.

I rented Dark Kingdom. It was an O.K. hack and slash. The online is good. But the only thing that stopped me from buying it was that you can't use your single player character in the online games. which pretty much kills online also.
You can load your single player game into an online session, but anyone that joins would be joining as a level 1 player. that doesn't work out so well if your starting up in any of the later missions.
If they fix that part of the online (which there just doesn't seem to much support for the game from Sony, just check the official DK:UL message boards to see what I mean) I would buy the game in a second (used, not new).

I own Resistance: Fall Of Man and NBA 2K7.

Resistance and NBA 2K7 are keeping me busy, because im still tryna beat Resistance, and the different types of things you can do on NBA 2K7 makes you wanna keep playing it.

I know how you feel. I felt the same last year after I bought my loud 360. I wondered if I had made a mistake and I had to wait until March, when I bought Oblivion and GRAW, to finally be reassured.

With that experience, I am not concerned about my PS3 buying decision.
I guess I see where Dralt's coming from but most people just do did not have that experience. With CoD2 (285K), Madden 2006 (201K), PD0 (186K), NFS (122K), PGR (88K), Kameo (83K) along with all the others having R:FoM (80K) as the only "big" title at launch is a an unpleasent new experience...

Certainly not worried though. I saved $400 adding BR to my HT!

As a 360 owner with a PS3, I knew all I would be getting was one good game. So I can't say I'm disappointed. I got what I expected.

Since I have kids we've purchased quite a few games so far:

Resistance: FOM
NBA 2k7
NHL 2k7
Tiger Woods 2007
Madden 07
Ridge Racer 7
Marvel Ultimate Alliance
Fight Night Rnd. 3
Full Auto 2
Blazing Angels

I've been pleased with the quality of all the games so far. NHL 2k7 probably being the most flaky with unexplained lock-ups from time to time.

I purchased Resistance Fall of Man as that is the only game I wanted. Looking forward to later in the year when some exclusives come out.
