HD way off on my new MF-1 setp- help

I just finished setting up my new system- Meridian mf-1 Pj with the new 1080 processor- Screen research 120" curved 2.35 screen- IscoIII lens-When I run a regular dvd thru my Meridian 800 player everything is fine- BUT when I run a HD (toshiba xa-1) the entire picture shifts down!!! I lose quite a bit of the picture - even when I run a std. dvd thru the toshiba the pic gets cut off- I notice the same thing ( but not as badly ) thru the panny blue ray player- My ISF guy said that it probably is because the Meridian processor does not have the anamorphic upgrade yet- He feels everything will get fixed(as well as a brighter pic???) when the upgrade is done-Does this make sense to all you 2.35 guru's??? thanks in advance for the help-Gary

Hmm, it will be interesting to see the image and hear feedback from others. It seems to me that it is a faulty source component and not the CIH (lens/ projector etc)...

I think your ISF guy is wrong. We just decided to put this projector into our newly built home theater. When we went in to our installer's demo theater to compare it with the Ruby, we viewed several sources including an HDTV feed, a NAD upscaling DVD player and a PS3 for Blu-Ray. I brought the PS3 with me and simply plugged it into HDMI upon arrival, so the projector wasn't calibrated in advance for this feed. All sources were running through the Meridian processor. We had no problem with the image shifting around from source to source. The only problem we did have was that we left spending a lot more money, as this projector's image makes the Ruby's image look seriously wanting.

Hey-after playing with this - It seems to just shift down when in letterbox mode- when using the anamorphic mode on the M processor it is fine except you get the black bars top and bottom- I watched BB last night on the toshiba(HD)-It seemed pretty dark- Again (sorry if this is a dumb question) -After M(whenever that is!!!) upgrades the processor to handle a anamorphic lens- will my pic. get brighter do to the fact that the Pj will then be using all the pixels possible??Or is it that my screen research screen is not bright enough?? I have talked to M about this but I truly feel they are really not at the top of their game when it comes to this- ALso if updated will my BR and HD pic fill the screen as I thought it would when I built this theater- Sorry for the questions but it is very difficult to get the right answers- gary
