Recording From Cable Box/DVR To DVD Recorder

I would also like to learn how to save and record programs off of my Comcast DVR to my Panasonic DVD Recorder (E-20 Model). I have the component cables and left and right audio OUT on the DVR going IN to my Samsung 50" DLP HDTV. I need to figure out the best way to send this info IN to my Panasonic DVD-Recorder to save shows on DVR I want to archive to DVD. I tried connecting the RF cable out of the DVR cable box IN to a VCR and then sending a standard yellow video cable and white and red audio stereo cables into the back of the DVD Recorder, but the image that is recorded by the DVD Recorder is softer and worse than a VHS VCR image recorded in SLP mode.

Has anyone tried running a HDMI cable OUT from the Cable Box/DVR IN to the TV and then also using the COMPONENT OUT from Cable Box/DVR IN to DVD Recorder?

There has to be a better way to make nice, clean copies on DVD-R of the shows I have in the DVR. Please help! Thank you. Patrick

Usually people use S-Video (plus analog stereo audio, White/Red RCA) from DVR to DVD recorder.

You can use Composite Video (Yellow RCA) but the picture quality will be better with S-Video.

You don't have Component Video input on your DVD recorder (as far as I know).

Thanks Bobkart. I will try your advice tonight. And you are correct, my Panasonic DVD recorder does not have a component video IN, only S-Video and regular Yellow Video Cable IN.

Much appreciation!
