Multichannel ability?

My cd collection is now growing larger and I am thinking about organizing it with a media server. Quite a few of my cds are actually SACDs and before I seriously consider this move I would like to know whether I will be able to rip my SACDs so that multichannel is still available to be played from the media server. I apologize if this quesition is noobish, but I am not that well versed in these kind of issues. I have the NAD Masters Series Pre/Pro Amp and 7.1 channel Amp with analog input, so if the media server can serve it out in multichannel I have the means to play it.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know any single networked media adapter which has 6 analog outputs. Even Kaleidescape does not support that.
On other side how are you going to rip SACDs? I never heard about ability to rip SACDs, or DVD-Audios for that matter. You might be able to rip stereo portion of them, but, then again, you don't need multichannel outputs.

you can rip dvd-audios but not currently sacds. SACDs have a physical watermark.

thank you for the responses. I was first trying to find out whether there was a media server that "served" out multichannel audio via analog connections. If there was, I was then going to ask if there was a way to rip multichannel SACD. I can see that the answer to both questions is basically no.

Thanks for the replies.

Norgoth, many media servers will serve out multichannel audio as AC3 files or DTS wav files. They will not, however, serve out MPLS encoded files in high definition (24 bit).

Just for the record, the Ziova/Zensonic Z500 HD media player does have 5.1 analog outputs (6 connections). I'm uncertain of anything beyond that.

Just for the record, it does not play SACD nor DVD-Audio: manual. p.20.
