Replacing Lenticular Screen HC-R4755W

Thread title pretty much says it all. My 2 year old took a lego brick to my television and put a nice crack in the middle of the screen. I went to samsungparts and found they actually sell that outer screen (BP67-00227D) for $85 plus s&h.

However, when I spoke the parts guy he said it can break very easily if you have never replaced one before and, of course, they do include installation instructions for the screen.

Anyone ever done this before or have instructions on how to do this or a link?

Again this, specifically, is a Samsung HC-R4755W rear projection CRT.

Thank you in advance!

This is the CRT projector forum, you would get more interest on the rear projection TV forum.

I switched screens on my 57" Hitachi but the screen was 3 layers. A clear protective, a lenticular and a fresnel lens all stacked together.

Make sure that outer layer is the part you need before you order it.

Changing the screen stack was easy on the Hitachi once I found a replacement.

Have fun.
