I need help figuring out how to make a interlock for my fireplace. I'm sure some have seen my construction post and noted that my screen comes down about 8 inches in front of my gas fireplace.
Well in the last month while watching movies my cats have managed to sit on the remote for the fireplace and turn it on. I've caught this in time so there has been no damage at this point.
What I need help with is designing something that will allow me to lock out power to the fireplace while the screen is down. Are there any sensors that I could hook to the trigger on my projector that would use a relay to disable the power to the fireplace? Then as soon as the projector is turned off would allow the normal operation?
