1041QM SONY any good ?

Hi guys

after 4 LCD PJs, Im now considering a CRT, as Im tired of weak black level, my HS50 was great for class, but none of the digials appeal , well none in my price range...............

anyone know if the 1041QM SONY is a good CRT ?

would I be able to get good images, from a dvd player, I have a panasonic dvd-s97, that can upscale, but only through hdmi.............I would be willing to buy another player that can upscale out of component, as these are not expensive..........

I am presuming the sony can take component ?

does it need a line doubler ? or would image be good even without it ?

thanks

No that machine only accepts 480i and can't handle any upscaling or progressive scan.
